Rey becoming empress would of saved the sequel trilogy. If she turns to the dark side in the new movies coming up it will great to see how powerful she becomes

Maybe she have just in case that the spirit of Darth Sidious now lives in her. like wherever she goes, he will follow. And he will not leave her until she fulfills his destiny.

The story of yours is so beautiful and great and absolutely cool. I always wanted to watch Rey and Kylo switching places in the force. At the beginning Kylo being evil and in the Dark Side and Rey being good and in the Light Side but at the middle for a climax in episode VIII and /or at the end of the story Rey being evil and on the Dark Side and Ben Solo being good and on the Light Side... They could also bring up Rey clones to make the question of her parents and origin more and more complicate but sadly they didn't do something like this. This would make also some connection to Mandalorian's Moff Gideon. I have to say bringing the idea up here shows you are also in love with good storytelling and alternative endings etc.

Do I understand correctly and is it possible that this comment is also a response to one of the potential scenarios in the comment I posted in the past myself? I'm asking because you praised a possible scenario about Rey and Kylo Ren switching places in terms of the Force (both turning to the opposing sides of the Force), and as far as I can tell from both the video and all comments, I'm the only one who is talking about them 'switching places'. If it indeed is a response to my comment in that regard, I really appreciate the response and compliment.
The first moment I thought of the idea to make Rey and Kylo Ren switch places was when, in The Last Jedi, Rey attacked Luke after he interrupted them touching hands. It would not have been that moment that Rey would actually turn to the dark side, because A) after she knocked Luke down, she was referring to Ben Solo as the only hope for the Resistance after Luke's refusal to take back his lightsaber handed out by Rey, and because B) Ren was not in the right state to turn to the light side (he was still seeking the power of both leadership in the First Order, or the galaxy as a whole for that matter, and the way to use the dark side at its full potential, not to mention that he always kept feeling connected to Darth Vader); Ren was just to deep in the dark to turn to the light at that point. Also, Rey had already 'gone straight into the darkness and didn't even resist it', as Luke stated even earlier during the movie. When during Luke's first test on Rey, Luke told her to tell him what she saw 'between it all', Rey said: "Balance..." This balance in the Force also became an important thing in Snoke's speech after Rey was captured. "Darkness rises, and light to meet it." Well, if keeping or bringing balance is the key in the story, then "Light rises, and darkness to meet it" must apply alternatively as well. And if Kylo Ren would actually be the only hope for the Resistance in the end, like Rey stated after her fight with Luke, then the only logical consequence of Ren turning to the light would be that Rey would be pulled to the dark side somehow, and that she couldn't prevent that as part of a dyad (there can be no light without darkness or vice versa). Then the trailer for Rise of Skywalker showed us a dark version of Rey. It wouldn't be that easy to turn her to the dark side, but in the movie Rey gets more and more confused about who she is, and even more what she is after destroying that ship with her lightning powers. She gets more and more enraged over time once she learns that Palpatine ordered her parents to be assassinated and that he is her grandfather. But she is also more and more angry to herself because she uses powers that she associates with the Sith, because she initially believed she killed Chewbacca herself, because she believes she failed to retrieve the wayfinder and because she impaled Ren lethally with his own lightsaber in a moment of lack of control of her anger (Rey healed him, but if she didn't feel Leia using her last powers, she would have probably let Ben die, which would pull her further towards the dark side).
Balance has always been the keyword here, so I'd think that if one turns to the light, like Ben did with the help of Leia and his father's memory, then Rey should turn to the dark in the end, or the balance within the dyad is broken. So, I imagined Rey to get even more furious when confronted with Palpatine. Because Rey and Ben have the same goal in mind - destroy Palpatine - they will temporarily work together. But once Palpatine is destroyed, Rey turns on Ben for all the dark deeds he has committed, because in her anger she can't forgive him. And as an act of redemption, and to end the danger Rey has become, Ben allows Rey to mortally stab him without defending himself, in order to get close enough to drain her life force, which is insufficient to survive. In the end they both die. The Force itself 'retreats' itself from the known galaxy, finally being in true balance. No one is able to use or abuse it actively ever again. And Luke's statement that the Jedi should end has become a reality, as also the Sith have ended. The Resistance pay Ben and Rey their last respect, as they are one with the Force.
The galaxy is at true peace, finally... But the twilight of the Force has come, and when night falls, it will forever sleep. That is the way of things... the way of the Force.

If I have occupied the idea from you, I want to give you my highest respect because it is your brain child. But on the other hand I think it's my own thinking which lead me to such an theory. And it makes sense. Just remember: we have Rey with super strong force abilities in The Force Awakens (mind trick), flying the millennium falcon, winning a battle against a trained Dark Side user Kylo Ren. And we have Kylo Ren with already a conflict back to the light side, murdering his father, being just a child behind his mask, beaten by Rey in a lightsaber duel. So, in the force awakens Rey is shown as already super strong and Kylo is shown as weak. To get a good and well planned Hero's journey and character development you could make the super strong character (Rey) become evil and weak and the weak character (Kylo Ren) good and strong. You see: it is just logical thinking to get this idea.

This is not what I would have in mind. Rey could have turned to the dark side of the Force, but it would have been either during the events of The Rise of Skywalker, or just a few years after that and in another way.
Allthough Rey claims to not even let herself hate her worst enemy, it looks to me that, during every fight in the movie, she still shows quite a lot of rage, including when she blocks Sisious' Force lightning and sends it back to him. My first guess about what would happen during the movie before I saw the movie for the first time, but after I saw its trailer, was something like either of the following:
    - that the boy at the end of The Last Jedi would have been the reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker (the only way he could live was through Anakin's knowledge of the dark side of the Force when he was Darth Vader), who would bring back Rey from the dark side after she fell for it when confronting Kylo Ren one last time, or
    - that Rey and Kylo Ren would basically 'switch places' in terms of the sides of the Force, because A) they were both the dyad in and the balance of the Force (if one has to be in the light, the other must be in the dark, even when they turn) and B) Ben Solo/Kylo Ren is a Skywalker while Rey is a Palpatine; after Ben Solo AND Rey defeated Sidious together (Rey would do so out of dark motives, though), Rey would turn on Ben (seeing him as Kylo Ren) and Ben would sacrifice himself in order to kill them both (there is only balance when they are both alive or both dead).
As for the scenario for after The Rise of Skywalker, it would be something like this:
Rey has defeated Palpatine with the support of the spirits from all generations of Jedi, but because she still did it with some considerable amount of rage, she is not immiately aware of its consequences. She has become what is meant to be the balance of the Force itself, similar to but much more powerful than the Father from the The Clone Wars series. I say 'meant to be', because her previous manifestation of the rage against Sidious partially had the effect that he was hoping for. Rey takes the role of a 'Sentinel of the Force', a kind of guard for the galaxy tasked with protecting the galaxy from potential new Force sensitive threats that abuse the Force in any way and preventing anyone from becoming a new Jedi, Grey Jedi (called Ga'rah) or Sith, just to make sure that nothing concerning the Force and the balance within it can go wrong ever again. This would mean that not only the Sith, but also the Jedi Order would end, just like Luke initially intended in The Last Jedi, but for a slightly different reason. It was intended that Rey would be the last active Force user ever, and that the Force would be at peace at last when Rey would have passed away. There is one big problem, however. Rey herself is the biggest threat to the galaxy, because her duel with Sidious has made her absorb the Sith spirits inside of her after all. She has been able to neutralize the influence of the Sith spirits enough to end their legacy with the help of the Jedi spirits. But after a while, she discovers that she is neither clearly on the light side nor on the dark side, making her (mentally) unstable with the Force and a serious liability for the galaxy. She will have to find a way to control her Force powers before she destroys everything. If she doesn't succeed to bring herself into balance, the only one that can stop her is someone who has always loved her, whoever or whatever she has been, and who is the only hope left to stop her one way or another. It would be for us viewers to find out who this person to stop Rey would be. Finn could be one of the possible candidates, because he has probably been closest to her. But I wouldn't know for sure myself.
This scenario doesn't turn Rey to the dark side in the pure sense of the term necessarily, but not being able to control herself as the only active and most powerful Force user in the whole is a danger to the galaxy anyway.
