I love everything about this: the beautiful wooden look, the skills to make this kalimba, the crisp sound it produces, the glow in the dark! What piece of music are you playing in the end? I'ts so beautiful! I assume it's something from Bach based on the picture, but I can't figure out which one
Thank you very much😊 the song that I played for test is called "Yoin Yojou" by Shiro Sagisu. ruclips.net/video/sQFkbZLQzmY/видео.htmlsi=pKO97kgqdKE9vKy0
It feels so amazing when I successfully made 42 keys. I was super nervous because I failed on 40 keys before. But now, it looks like I got a compensate from failure!
I'm wondering if the buzzing tine you had to cut down had anything to do with sympathetic resonance. It's possible that because the back was quite long it had the same fundamental or harmonic frequency as the actual note being played. This would cause the back of the tine to vibrate sympathetically and potentially creating that buzz when that note was played.
Yeah that was what I exactly thought about it, but I didn't mentioned because I haven't studied relations between long exposed back tine and buzzing problem. Your comment simply encouraging and reinforce my thought! Thanks for your comment about buzzing! :D
Hello. And thank you for posting this video. I am glad that SOME one has figured out how to make a kalimba, with 42 keys, where semitones { sharps and flats } are added to every major tone on octaves 3 to 6 . i have a Byla 21 key diatonic { key of C only} kalimba and wish i had a chromatic kalimba .Unfortunately ive looked at some chromatic kalimbas on the market and i notice theyre missing some semitones on some major keys ,,like octaves 3 and 4 . And they charge over $100 for these kalimbas. Im thinking ,, so much for that idea...... I hope you are maybe considering the idea of producing more of this kalimba you have created. If not , maybe make a video on how you made it . Thank you again
Hi Fire. Thanks for your comment. I don't make this kalimba right now but I normally make one when customer ask to build for them. So in this case, if you want to have those 42 key I can build for you. Or you can have "THAT Kalimba" on the video. I still have one but I don't use it much now. :D
Hello Mr Kalimba. I would definitely like to get this 42 key Kalimba. Thank you so much for this offer. Could you possibly send the details of how to arrange this to my email of fireblaze1@hotmail.com. I really look forward to hearing from you . Thank you
@@imsacookie5773 I don't get your point of questions. I use my Z-Brackets as a bridge for make closer distance between first layer and Second layer of tine sets. Thats all. I just did that way just make close together so I don't have to jump my fingers crazy far especially playing fast rhythm. If you want to use two bridges on the second layer, then you have to make a room for glue them down on the body anyway. Which is takes more room than this way. I don't know what you trying to explain, but if you are telling me that put the bridges "on the tines where behind the Z-bracket" methods, I just didn't like that way. Because the bridge is literally hanging on the air, they transfer the vibration through the tines underneath, not directly go to the body. People might not able to catch any difference in between those methods and my way, but I prefer the transferring vibration energy directly in to the body because I don't want to have possible outcome that might interfering the vibration of first layers of tines.

@@jenninapascualkalimba depends on how it's build. the kalimba in the video for example, it has longer tine because it starts from 3rd octaves. Which mean is more material consum than normal scale kalimbas. Also used resin which is expensive material as well (and take more time to make that). So I can't tell exact build cost right now. But good thing is, it would be the One and Only in the world because it's custom build only for you. You can engrave your favorite word or initial, change colors etc etc. I would say it's would be around 170~440 Canada Dollars depends on how it's build ;)

0:22 Mr. Kalimba what's the difference between putting the bridge on the z-bracket and splitting the two sets from each other?
Distance of 2 sets of tines for better playability.
