Workshop ENGAGEMENT - IT’S A CULTURAL THANG (K-UNIVERSITY)
What cultural norms are validated and affirmed in classrooms? How do you guide students to academic success when their cultural norms are at odds with the institutional culture of school? This session will focus on how to increase student engagement through the affirmation of students’ cultural norms. Educators will leave with a deeper understanding of cultural norms that show up in classrooms as well as instructional strategies that enhance student engagement and achievement.
