Thank you!! This is probably the best and most useful youtube video I have watched ever. I had the exact same problem with the controllers.I returned and received a new system. Similar problems with both units. And I went through every Reddit solution., system cache, reset button, disconnect, reconnect, and every variation - but either they didn't work, or were only temporary fixes. This got the the whole reason why this was happening, and also explains why some people found that just pressing buttons like crazy randomly somehow worked. I found the Axis 2 problem. and followed your steps, and eventually its is now fixed? I had to use some CRC contact cleaner I had, but mine had very small improvements each spray. Went from -0.2 to -0.22, -0.25, -0.29....etc, It took about 10 repeats and eventually got it to -1.0. And now the controllers work every time. THe other controller was not as bad. I don't understand why this is so widespread of a problem (what are the chances that 2 different units I bought have the same issue), and yet no recall from Sony, no explanation from them. So disappointing. I almost gong to return it for a Meta. Thanks a ton for this! I am now -1 point for stress. And why is this the ONLY video online that fixes it? Sony owes you money.
You are an absolute legend!!! Tried absolutely everything and it didn't work, but WD-40 contact cleaner from Amazon, two quick squirts and it would amazingly! Thank you for posting this!!!
Thank you for making this video. Too bad it is too late for me. I just got my controller back from Sony. My left controller was doing the same thing, and i tried everything i could to fix it and ended up having to send it to Sony. Cost me $60 because i was out of warranty.
