- This month, we had the pleasure of meeting Luen Free, a passionate flower grower on Bundjalung Country. Guided by her deep commitment to soil health and the local flower movement, Luen left behind her life as a touring DJ in Sydney/Eora to follow her calling: cultivating organically grown flowers. Her bee-friendly blooms, fresh and fragrant, stand in stark contrast to the chemical-laden imports often found in commercial flower markets, offering a more vibrant and conscious alternative.
Luen shares her journey from DJ decks to garden hoes, revealing why we should all champion locally-grown flowers-not only to support small businesses, but to nurture our own health and the wellbeing of our ecosystems.
