- This documentary, created by Mandy Leal, describes and demonstrates how Piglet from "Winnie the Pooh" displays symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder. This was created for Dr. Caleb Lack's "Abnormal Psychology" course at the University of Central Oklahoma.
I knew I related to piglet from such a young age. I’ve dealt with anxiety since I was 6. I didn’t know what anxiety was until I was 12 when I was officially diagnosed. But piglet always was someone I could relate to.
No wonder why he was my favorite character! I've been diagnosed with GAD
First off let me say what a brilliant example for GAD and secondly please all of you who state you have an anxiety disorder, take it from a psych nurse get some help you don't have to see a psychiatrist you can find a great therapist this is adversely affecting your quality of life and that is not ok. Best GAD explained in sweet n simple way
as a person with GAD i can relate to piglet ^^
Yo, I just wanna say, even though I'm a whole ass teen, I love piglet because I relate so bad. I developed anxiety at 11 and it's been hell since I didn't realize what it was at first and had to deal with it alone.
But what I've learned from piglet is that I'm a normal person capable of anything a normal person can do. I just need a little help from strategies to calm the anxiety, but besides that, I'm simply a normal person. :)
Have you heard of deep breathing? I try that sometimes.
@@theoneandonlymem432 Oh yeah, I've heard of this one that goes
Breathe in for 4 seconds
Hold for 4 seconds
Breathe out for 6 seconds
And repeat
I do it when I meditate :)
I don’t have an anxiety disorder but I do worry about any event in my life that is unfamiliar to me since I’m autistic.
Watching in 2023. Can’t believe I’m comparing myself to Piglet right now 😂🤦🏽♂️
Who’s here from med class
this is a perfect example of the disorder cant believe i use to watch this. as a kid didnt notice what they was saying
I have severe anxiety disorder. So bad I have to have a separate class in school
nice! I kinda suffer from this. I wonder if theres any correlation with GAD and the size of someones body. Piglet is a tiny person but obviously thats not enough. would be intersesting to do case studies.
No I'm 200cm and have it. It sucks 😢
I have both adhd and GAD...
TIGGER has ADHD
EEYORE has depression

***** I was wondering the same thing about her. She doesn't seem to know that GAD is not all about panic attacks. I have GAD but rarely have panic attacks. The symptoms I mainly struggle with is the constant worrying, difficulty concentrating, and bouts of insomnia. (No offense to you, Christin.)
