I have been doing this 7 years and I really don’t think it’s that bad. It’s better to do bread than most of the jobs in America if you don’t have a good college degree. But yeah no vacation no sick days and selling your route is really hard. It took me almost 8 months when I bought it..

I've owned a flowers rt in atlanta for over 7 yrs, paid the rt off 3 yrs early and the truck as well. Most days are a 2am alarm but am done by 10am. I got a crack out of you in the beginning by making sure you're packing- I do as well just like carrying a wallet but the company says not to.. well I gotta go home everyday. As for selling the rt, you are spot on. Try finding someone with over 100k, or 10%, with no background, DOT physical, clean MVR, and the ability to work EVERYDAY without excuse of how you feel. Hell I snapped my ACL playing basketball and worked for 3 months while training someone to run while I was out for surgery, they didn't give a rip..

@@shippwrekk773 I felt ya. I was stuck in the news paper delivery industry for roughly 5 yrs. (If not more) Every nite, no days off. Couldn't leave till I found a replacement. I finally negotiated with them to split my route in 4's , and walked away from the distribution and receiving side of it as well. Money was good, but at what price? But it shows that if someone willing to sacrifice, money can be made.

Being an io in the bread buisness is the worst io possible. Many other ios are better. I know 24 years as a company breadman was great but when forced to buy in or take severance I took severance. Every one in the same depot bought in and regretted it and sold back quickly.

I own a flowers bread route. This guy is a wuss. You never abandon a route. Should have roughed it out until you had buyer. You lit thousands on fire bruh

What was the result of leaving the bread business? I’m currently buying a Route. Did you find a buyer? Or abandon the route?
Also I’m curious as to why you didn’t hire a driver?
Man I have a lot of questions for you about your experience with Flowers

Hey man, he passed away about a month ago. His wife still has this truck since it was paid off and I think she's trying to sell it now. There was a guy with a neighboring route that I think bought his route. I do know that Flowers made it very difficult for him to leave. And he hired help occasionally but they weren't reliable. They would work a bit and find something else.

I’m 11 months away from paying my route off. Hopefully I can find a buyer. The new requirements to sell your routes are crazy.

@@LegitRaceCraft Wow, His passing didn't have anything to do with working that route did it? Yeah, you'd be better off playing the lottery than finding someone reliable long term to assist on a route.
