I learned Linux when the only computer I had access to was a 2008 Dell Inspiron (I think) with a whopping 3GB of RAM and a busted hard drive. I managed to upload Slitaz to a 4GB USB (on a friends computer) and ran the live version learning what I was doing by reading the small print on my phone and dealing with a lot of frustration. My point is, take this gift Grant is giving you and cherish it!

The Office (US) 👌 I was just looking into the policy default on iptables. I assume that an administrator would set all these to DROP as you would want to only manage the ACCEPT rules (I'm assuming that any ACCEPT rules with an ACCEPT policy would be pointless). I've not done any testing but it may be possible that the Ubuntu installation is using the 'firewalld' service rather than the 'iptables' service or you have to restart the iptables service following configuration changes. I'm currently studying Cisco switching and routing so I might not find the time but you could look into that.

I got ubuntu running in the virtualbox, but when I type the google drive exercise address into the addres bar, it comes up as 404 error. I triple checked my spelling, how else can I acces the my favorite company exercise inside ubuntu?
Yes. Of course! I would start by going through the CompTIA A+ material. The CompTIA A+ is an entry-level I.T. certification. The content teaches you the very basics of hardware, software, networking, and security. You don't have to get the certification, just go through the content! There's free training on Cybrary for the A+, just look up "CompTIA A+ Cybrary" and you should be able to get started.
Tristan Fulford I was running it as a VM. It’s only Ubuntu I had trouble with. Kali Linux works fine. Ubuntu worked alright but slow enough to annoy me. I am also a cyber security student so I need to upgrade to something that has more than 6 gbs of RAM. And can run more than 1 vm at a time
@@thelegacygaming4982 you don't need anything for that. VirtualBox tends to be pretty heavy on windows. Check out dual booting, and don't bother using Ubuntu anyway. Kali is still debian and much lighter.
