Knobs would be easier for sure but I think it’s more about the look/aesthetic to the design. The mounts are pretty easy to screw and unscrew which is why I’m thinking TacMolle went the route they did. Not to mention it does at another tie-down point if needed/ someone could use
It's hard to say since we have the cargo rack on top. I feel like it doesn't make more noise than that or what you would normally get with driving on the highway. I've had tires make more noise than all the mods on the Jeep. I'd assume if we didn't have the other mods that you'd hear it a bit but again, not overly different than the noise you get just for driving a Wrangler
It does put pressure on the rain gutters but they can withstand it. Most roof rack systems are gutter mounted and can handle “150” pounds. Between the gear and the box weight it’d be hard to reach that number

Definitely! We actually contemplated doing the same thing with our trailer. It’d take some work around but shouldn’t be a difficult to do at all!
