Its really exciting to hear Berio's vocal work. Berberian was lucky to be married to Berio. Many have essayed this music. Its always new and exciting. I think many young ears would get a kick out of hearing and seeing this. Che faro senza and langia will always be around. This might get more people into the concert hall.
I had always thought that no other singer would ever be able to come close to Cathy Berberian's rendition of this piece, but your interpretation is absolutely amazing and mesmerizing in all possible senses. I'm deeply in love with it!!!
Am I the the only one who is to narrow minded to get this form of art? I mean the performance is....lets say impressive. It is also impressive that someone is able to write a score for random noises. But just because you can write something down, that is difficult to produce, doesn't mean that it is nice to listen to.
Hi! Thanks for your comment and I do understand what you are saying. This music consumes different then Mozart for example . Its a live experience and performance. It is indeed complex in notation and performance but bigger then that it transforms the definition of “music” and “music making” into a ( then ) new dimension.
