I am not sure how I missed this originally, and this brought me to tears when I watched last night. Jerry was the soul and heart of GL. Well done, Alan, Liz, Michael, Wendy, and so moving to see all his fellow actors sharing memories and love. Again, well done.
Just today I sat and watched this entire tribute, and I was near tears at the end. Guiding Light was THE BEST soap ever and I miss it so much. That show got me through so many difficult times in my own life by providing a way to escape into its great storylines for an hour a day. It was wonderful to see so many of the actors and remember them from the show. There will never be another show like GL.
I am blown away by this tribute to Jerry. As a longtime fan of the show, I always assumed he was that good human he portrayed and this confirms it. Thank you Alan, Wendy, Liz, and Mike for coordinating and bringing all the beautiful faces together whom we've missed so much.
I just love and adore how Justin gives so much credit to his fellow actors with absolutely no thought to his own talent or contribution to the shows he's been on.
Thank you, so much for hosting this event and tribute. I was never able to go to a Stars and Strikes event as I lived in Northern Canada, and it was always a dream to go. For those of Jerry’s fans who couldn’t make it to NYC, this event has meant so much. Thank you, thank you. Jerry reminded me so much of my Dad (who passed last Fall). RIP.
Wow -- thank you so much for your sweet words. I am so sorry for your loss. I know what it is like to lose a Dad and it's not fun. Sending hugs to you and my deepest condolences.
I'm beyond greatful for this tribute and blown away by the guest appearances of actresses like Denise, Kathleen & Kathleen a.k.a. Katie, Lainie & Amanda, as I watched the show starting around 1976 and am fully aware of their characters and stories. Thank You for including them and THANK YOU to them for joining and sharing with us.
I want to say thank you again Alan for allowing us soap fans a chance to say how much we appreciate and love our soap favorites, no soap family. The Locher Room has given us a opportunity to say thank you to them for inspiring and helping us in some way 5 days a week for many years! What more can you ask for!
Thank you Alan Locher, Liz Keifer, Michael O' Leary and everyone else involved in this wonderful amazing tribute to the amazingly talented Jerry verDorn this was so well put together he would be so proud of you all he may be gone from our sights but as long as we remember him in our heart's he will never be forgotten
I absolutely loved this show. Thank you Alan and all the wonderful amazing soap stars who participated in this. May Jerry rest in heaven and peace. He was a legend.
Alan, Liz, Michael and Wendy. Thank you so much for this beautiful tribute in memory of Jerry Ver Dorn. His legacy will live on forever! It was so great seeing all the actors that came together to honor him. And what a way to end, with Peter Maureen and Liz! Thank you again!❤
What a fantastic program! I couldn't watch live and had to spread it out over 4 viewings. Tears off and on through the whole thing. I thought the tears were done, but when the GL theme started playing over the photos at the end, they started up again. Of course, there were lot of laughs too. I just loved all the stories that everyone shared. Thank you, Alan, Liz, Michael, Wende, and everyone involved in making this happen.
Jerry was the anchor of GL. Although everybody talks about Kim Zimmer and Michael Zaslow, the true heart of the show was Jerry ver Dorn, particularly after the loss of Charita Bauer.
Wonderful early holiday gift, pure delightful joy to see our Springfield family! Jerry smiling down on everyone connected with this event wonderful tribute to a gentleman!
Lucky to have the privilege to watch Jerry from the moment he was introduced on GL. So I was so excited to hear from Kathleen Cullen - one of the best actresses from my favorite period of GL. Please have her back (with the actor who played Ben) to talk about her AMAZING scenes with Rita Lloyd.
You put together such an incredible and heartfelt tribute to Jerry Ver Dorn. To see so many beloved actors, crew, his family &friends come together to talk about him --you just know he was a very special person and friend. Donating for the autistic community to have access to art was an awesome way for us to honor him also. I watched the whole event and it just flew by! The ending was 💖💖
Somehow I spent 4 1/2 hours watching this tribute to Jerry verDorn! This was so incredibly well done by all of you! I love these tributes and I am so grateful for The Locher Room helping us to stay connected to our beloved New York soaps community! (: (: (:
I may add more later, but it is sooo nice to hear that a performer is at least close to what you imagined him to be like. I was too shy in 2009 to actually approach Jerry, but I so appreciated watching him with so many other fans and I do think he smiled at me while I flailed around and tried to concentrate on a bowling ball. Kathleen Cullen looks like no time has passed between the 80s and now. What!?
OMG. What an awesome e tribute to Jerry. Thank you Alan and I agree, the one good thing with the shut down of America two years ago is the several great videos like LockerRoom and others to help keep us updated and to see these great actors….memories….
Alan, this was absolutely beautiful! Jerry AND Ross were our George Bailey, but instead of Bedford Falls, it was Springfield. Who else but Ross could have closed out those magical Christmas episodes? Watching all these wonderful people - this repertory of actors, writers, directors whom we still miss so much, talk about this beloved man was an unforgettable experience. The Locher Room remains a gift to us all! 🙏🏻💓
Oh man!!! I was googling Frank Grillo and clicked and clicked and found out Jerry passed in May 😢😢😢 he was always a gentleman and welcoming when I saw him at the Emmys and GL fan gatherings. May he Rest In Peace. Love that his GL and OLTL colleagues shared their memories.
Kudos to you and everyone who took part in making yesterday unforgettable. This was so awesome! Such a wonderful way to pay homage to Jerry, a man who touched/impacted so many lives-and clearly gave of himself so magnanimously. Seeing the camaraderie among the members of the cast family is always so heartwarming. 💖The finale has had me humming my favorite version of the theme song all day. Thanks so much!🌹
I love hearing that about the theme song -- what a treat to have that played live and then to play it again at the end I felt was the only way to end this tribute. Thank you.
Alan I just want to say this is absolutely beautiful. I am so glad this amazing event is still going for such a wonderful charity & also now to honor Jerry's honor with the scholarship in his name going forward so thank YOU for that. I also want to thank everybody for this as I am sure you ALL know more than me but I bet like me Jerry cried but also smiled during this event this year. 🤗😭😇💙
This was a beautiful tribute! Thank you Alan for this. I have so much to say and memories of Jerry as Ross. He would want us to honor him by continuing the Autism charity, I can hear him saying no tears just keep going and continue with the charity and be kind to one another. Like everyone said Jerry was the cornerstone of GL and lead by example. They don't make men like Jerry anymore! I know you played other roles but you will always be the one and only Ross Marler🥲❤️ RIP Jerry, work well done!
Alan, I just rewatched the end of the event, your video tribute to Jerry was so heartwarming and emotional. i cried watching it the first time and now again! Thank you so much for keeping Daytime alive! You are the best!❤🙏
"Ladies and Gentlemen, Jerry verDorn" ~ Mark Derwin ) I will always remember the story Mark told in another interview about introducing Jerry that way every time he walked on the set. (Love that Jerry signed the card that way.)
Oh my goodness. What a wonderful, special tribute to a wonderful special man. What a special treat seeing Denise Pence, Kathleen Cullen, and Kathleen Kellaigh, along with Maeve Kincaid representing the time that I started watching GL in 1977. I have seen Denise and Maeve in earlier Locher Room interviews, but this was a first for the two Kathleen’s. Nice to know, Alan, that you’re actively trying to schedule a time for a longer interview with Kathleen Cullen. Hopefully you can get Stephen Yates who played Ben McFarren, Amanda’s husband also. And that was such a heartfelt video tribute from Kathleen Kellaigh, honoring her TV brothers. So many wonderful GL actors who have left us that would’ve given amazing tributes. Tom O’Rouke, Don Stewart, Michael Zaslow, and William Roerick, just to name a few. Alan, a few notable people who worked with Jerry like Maureen Garrett, Mart Hulswit, were not on for whatever reason. People like Cindy Pickett and the amazing Jane Elliot would have been awesome to get. But over all an amazing tribute to a daytime icon. 😊😊
Nia Long, Monti Sharp, and Melissa Hayden all need a Locker Room reunion. I'd also love to see a Douglas Marland tribute with some of the writers and actors he worked with.
Beautiful Tribute in honor or beloved Jerry Verdon. Job well done as always Alan.Every one Knocked it out of the park and spoke very highly and amazing about him. Blessings to his wife, children, Liz Kieefer and entire guiding light family who all had a special relationship with Jerry. This is a lovely tribute to Jerry VerDorn, but where's the tribute to Marnie Schulenburg aka Jo Sullivan on One life to live and Alison Stuart on As the world turns 😢❤?
I am not sure how I missed this originally, and this brought me to tears when I watched last night. Jerry was the soul and heart of GL. Well done, Alan, Liz, Michael, Wendy, and so moving to see all his fellow actors sharing memories and love.
Again, well done.
So glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for letting me know.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Jules. Thank you so much.
This was amazing. Side note: Does anyone else wish Peter Simon was their dad? What a soul.
Love that!!!

Thank u so much miss my guiding light and great tribute and Cause
You bet, Jesse!
You're so very welcome.
Alan, you, Liz , Michael, Wendy and everyone knocked it out of the park. What an absolutely beautiful tribute to Jerry. ♥️
Thank you so very much, Lisa! I appreciate it.
Couldn't agree more. What an episode. Truly the most beautiful memorial to Jerry Verdorn. Thank you Alan.
I absolutely loved this show. Thank you Alan and all the wonderful amazing soap stars who participated in this. May Jerry rest in heaven and peace. He was a legend.
He certainly was, Debbie. Thank you for watching.

You bet, Joanne. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I felt the same with Maureen, Liz and Peter. 🙏
Fantastic tribute. Ross's election day dream remains one of my all-time favorite episodes of Guiding Light.
Glad you enjoyed it, Adam!

Thanks for the note, Katie. Jerry was certainly what he appeared to be -- just one of the nicest guys on the planet.

Nice tribute…. I would love to see Mary Kay Adams.
Me too, David. I love me some, MK.
Nia Long, Monti Sharp, and Melissa Hayden all need a Locker Room reunion. I'd also love to see a Douglas Marland tribute with some of the writers and actors he worked with.
I'd love that so much myself.
Beautiful Tribute in honor or beloved Jerry Verdon. Job well done as always Alan.Every one
Knocked it out of the park and spoke very highly and amazing about him. Blessings
to his wife, children, Liz Kieefer and entire guiding light family
who all had a special relationship with Jerry. Request could you work on a Tribute in honor of David Canary and John Callahan? Thanks for all do you.
Thanks for tuning in, Erika. I so appreciate it.
This is a lovely tribute to Jerry VerDorn, but where's the tribute to Marnie Schulenburg aka Jo Sullivan on One life to live and Alison Stuart on As the world turns 😢❤?
It's coming, Marvin. In May or June -- around the anniversary of her death.
Here's an interesting fact...Ross Marler was created by Bridget and Jerome Dobson and Allen Potter was executive producer at the time.
😍👍😍
Did I miss Elvera Roussel this year??? She hasn't missed many events.
You did not miss her, Rod. Thanks for your support and for tuning in.
Hi .Alan?very.fine
Hello Pasquale!!!
