I love her but I dont get the fact that the half of the judges gives a 4 or 5 GOE for that shaky 2A... We talk about reputation for PCS but I think it is more and more conquering GOE as well. I have the feeling that Medvedeva, Zagitova and Kihira got 4 or 5 kinda easily as their have this big reputation behind them (Medvedeva got a 5 for her opening flutz...). I believe the 3 of them deserve to be at the top but the judges sometimes give them the point regardless of the quality , because a 4 or 5 normally dont implies only a proper execution and transition but something more (huge height, big extension on the landing, amazing timing on the music...). I also feel that the judges were more reluctent on giving a +3 on the previous system...
+4/+5 you give asmong other things for those ultrahard entries - directly from charlotte to jump is something you won't see often, Some skaters just simply move off the whole ice, take maximum speed and jump. That's not what rules appreciate much, you need to have difficult/unexpected entries if you aim at high GOEs, together with other "bullets". And with all this, Alina still has clean jump (2A in this case) with great landing, not at all shaky. Just watch carefully.
@@theprofessional8743 Don't get me wrong I know she has the most difficult transition especially for the axel. Though it is supposed to be a plus and the body position, quality of take-off, landing etc. (overall the quality of execution) should still be considered for the GOE. Look at the quality of the 3lz 3lo and the GOE and tell me I am wrong...
Theophile Jouassain I am not too educated in this field so I wouldn’t dare to claim you are wrong. But I still think (only as a fan) that her GOE’s are mostly fairly dedicated. Judges can’t always judge 100% fair as they are only humans and can’t always notice evetything. But in general, skaters get what they deserve. At least this is what I think 🤷🏼♀️
@@elsafrt5540 she said that Medvedeva was a real winner of the Olympics and Alina didn't deserve to win. And she (Tarasova) always talks about Evgenia, even if Medvedeva doesn't participate
Екатерина Трусова oh so the comments that tarasova made during Alina’s performance went down the drain huh? Didn’t she call Alina pride of Russia or something like that? I believe Alina won the medal fair and square. And it’s so so sad that she can’t fully enjoy it because people feel medvedeva should have won.
The last World Championship of Medvedeva. And Zagitova will have difficulty getting into the top three new seniors in Russia in 2020. I do not see her doing a 3A or a quadruple. And as for the artistic part, Kostornaia is unbeatable. But in 2021 or 2022 Kamila Valieva will challenge them all.
@@0Immortelle0 Learning doesn't guarantee she has them, true is next season will be extremly hard to qualify for any event for Russian skaters, so it might well be this was the last for both Alina and Med, we'll see.
Who cares about ur opinion or your «predictions»? Like OK captain obvious, repeat what’s been said 1000 times by other people. Now is ALINA’s time. WHEN or IF girls you’ve mentioned achieve at least as much then talk how amazing they are but under THEIR videos
The amazing Russian juniors of today will grow too (height/weight-distribution) and by the time of next Olympics who knows if they will be capable of doing the same. But yes, next year they will reign.
Not the best program, but an excellent performance on the day. Great that she managed to bag a world title. Ironic considering there's a good chance she won't even make it to the next Worlds.
@@rizfer Worst case scenario for her would be that, based on next season's results, the three Russians to qualify for Worlds are Trusova, Kostornaia, Shcherbakova. Not out of the realm of possibility.
kezblu fyi Kostornaya is gonna be the only one getting good pcs in seniors and still they are gonna be lower than Alina’s by 3-5 points, she also doesn’t jump 3lz3lo, she has problem with her leg and after at least 2 years doesn’t jump 3A in actual competitions ( not saying she never will) Trusova is the main threat coz of her 2 quads, she never can do 3 when she is in important competitions, she also deserves like 66pcs max in seniors with help of rusfed (got 64 on jwc). Anya is weakest of all, she is better in pcs than Trusova but at least 5 points worse than Alina or Alena, she basically does 1 quad and she started to fear them as last jwc showed. So don’t say hop before u jump
@@Dosmthnew Good points. As you say, it's difficult to predict where the three juniors will be at this time next year, which is why I spoke of a "worst case scenario", from Zagitova's point of view. I would say, though, in answer to your comments, that PCS grading is so volatile and difficult to understand that it can't be counted on to keep the newbies down. Zagitova's own very high PCS this season, for a program which didn't show her off at her best, is an example of that. As you say though, Kostornaia is the only one who could challenge PCS-wise, and I believe her SS will continue to develop and she could become very good indeed. She also hasn't given up on 3A, and she still has time enough to come good on that. As for Trusova, I definitely expect her to start putting forward LPs with 3 quads, and as a senior she'll be able to include a quad in the short as well, if not two (if I'm not mistaken). Not sure where's she's at on the 3A, but I'm not optimistic, because her axel technique is so much less good than Kostornaia's. Regarding Shcherbakova, I agree that she is technically weaker than Trusova. I also think that physical change will probably be very hard on her. All that to say that I'm not taking for granted that the now-juniors will sweep the top places for Russia representation, but given that they've already taken the top three spots at senior Nationals, it's not out of the question that the existing seniors will struggle to get to Worlds.
her skating just isnt pretty to me. while i don't prefer the choreography or style of her skating, mad respect and congratulations for her efforts. amazing spins and jumps, blew me away o-o
Katherine Hwang When she performed at Stars on Ice in Japan last year, she showed her true skating potential. So sad that Daniil's choreographies are just so ugly.
Aini T, I agree. The choreography of this piece brought out the fire and passion of Carmen, which is what Carmen is about. Alina certainly has a very distinct style of skating as shown by the way she goes into her jumps , lands them and skates away.
Her skating skills have never been great but here she has got even worse. The growth spurt was too much after 2018. Her skating is small, she makes small steps and she bends too much forward. Her jumps looked a lot more muscled and insecure compared to 2017/18. The program is full of transitions and extra movements to distract from her worsening jumping technique and make it look like a great program, when it isn't at all. I like a lot of Russian skaters but she is not among them. She was really lucky that she was at her peak at age 15 when the 2018 Olympics came and when her jumps where in top form. Nothing more.
What are the "skating skills" for you? Probably making crossovers around the rink? Go watch Alina making obstacle corse in Japan on Boost channel and you will see she has an incredible skating skills!

I hope next season she will come back with a better and more aesthetic choreography (at which of course technical parts will be organically integrated).
Alena kostornaia has both.
@@begobolehsjwjangan2359 Alena Kostornaia will grow up as well as Eteri other girls we'll see how they'll cope. Not to mention Kosto has the worst leg wrap in Eteri camp.
BB what do you mean by the worst leg wrap?
Meh, next season it will be even more calculated, rushed and the music cuts will make us what to tear off our ears even more.
She is a talented skater, but her competition programs are horrible,
@@soniquecat4745 Precisely, her Gala choreography was excellent. The problem is with her competition program and I don't know if she needs to fire her choreographer or something or if this is a general problem for all competition programs of all skaters nowadays.
She wasn't beaten in the Olympics 😂 the commentator is nuts...
I know lol shes got the GOLD medal 🥇

Why zarina?
Czarina or Tsarina, I think is what Vm dide meant, as in the Russian term for Queen...

why is the comentator saying shes been beaten at the olympics 🤔🙄
He probably wanted to say "at the nationals", but messed it up.

Her transitions are usually really difficult. Her second axel came out of nowhere. Judges must also take this into account I guess.
👍👍👍👍👍👍💖
237.50 ain't a joke of a score for someone without ultra C jumps. Unfortunately, she was out of place among girls with 3A and quads.
Siempre he tenido la duda, porque lanzan peluches y flores?

Even this american commentator is better than Tarasova
Екатерина Трусова I will never forgive her for what she said last year.
@@theprofessional8743 I agree with you, I don't like her as a commentator and as a person, she is totally inadequate.
The Professional what did she say?
Actually Zagitova is learning quads. And Kostornaia and Valieva dont have neither quads nor triple axel for now.
@@0Immortelle0 Learning doesn't guarantee she has them, true is next season will be extremly hard to qualify for any event for Russian skaters, so it might well be this was the last for both Alina and Med, we'll see.
@@rahelhorvat1471 Alina still had higher score than Scherbakova and Kostornaya
Who cares about ur opinion or your «predictions»? Like OK captain obvious, repeat what’s been said 1000 times by other people. Now is ALINA’s time. WHEN or IF girls you’ve mentioned achieve at least as much then talk how amazing they are but under THEIR videos
The amazing Russian juniors of today will grow too (height/weight-distribution) and by the time of next Olympics who knows if they will be capable of doing the same. But yes, next year they will reign.
A bit overscored as usual, there were underrotations and the presentation please... Everything but the Carmen.
Commentator drunk cheap alcohol.
amm i thing this commentator doesn't know much about skating
Ma la mamma non ride mai?
The senior commentator is obviously drunk
I appreciate Alina very much. I’m sorry but her 3lutz-3loop was obviously under rotated.
Not the best program, but an excellent performance on the day. Great that she managed to bag a world title. Ironic considering there's a good chance she won't even make it to the next Worlds.
Why won’t she make it to the next worlds?
@@rizfer Worst case scenario for her would be that, based on next season's results, the three Russians to qualify for Worlds are Trusova, Kostornaia, Shcherbakova. Not out of the realm of possibility.
definitely we will see more beautiful performances from Alina. Every day she is getting better and better.
She will never stop.
kezblu fyi Kostornaya is gonna be the only one getting good pcs in seniors and still they are gonna be lower than Alina’s by 3-5 points, she also doesn’t jump 3lz3lo, she has problem with her leg and after at least 2 years doesn’t jump 3A in actual competitions ( not saying she never will) Trusova is the main threat coz of her 2 quads, she never can do 3 when she is in important competitions, she also deserves like 66pcs max in seniors with help of rusfed (got 64 on jwc).
