if the insulation ever does crack apart, you can get some cloth style heatshrink (think they call it fabric look heatshrink), and use a drop of expoxy on the coil end of it just to seal the very end to replace the insulation on that wire
This is coming on really well now. It will look stunning when it's done. I was amazed when you picked out which screws go with what but I guess you've done it a few times now.
I was late getting to watch this one, ROADKING, this is really interesting watching as you reassembled it. I was answering you as you chatted away, but I'll bet you didn't hear me!!!
Hey RoadKing! That Coil is in Great Looking Condition, is that Paper Waxed or Shellac coated? Just wondering as I've repaired a few old Coils in my time, and more often than not the Shellac coated ones Crack up something Rotten when you move em about!
Thanks so much for posting RK! I'm enjoying this series just as much as all of the others. Just a quick reminder, don't forget to take out that gaabage eh bud? Wouldn't want it to be building up in the shop! ;) Take care bud! Don't work too hard!
Meanwhile I'm sat here fiddling with a Honda GCV-135 carburettor I took off my POSgen project generator (carb was too small for the job, so got a GCV-160 carb which works perfect), just cos engine parts, they're fun to fiddle with... :P
Everett, I've found that those "free" screwdrivers are better than the ones you have to PAY FOR, at Sears! Until HF changes their "free stuff" policy, I'm not planning on "buying" screwdrivers in the future. Bent a Craftsman screwdriver, on the blade! Tightening a screw. Was a torsional twist! Only time I've bent a free one, is when I used an oxyacetylyne torch. And, I wanted it bent. Loocy (Sears) you have some "splainin" to do! (Sorry to get all Ricky Ricardo on you.) steve
Yeah I use to buy all Craftsman, but not any more!! I needed Metric Impact Sockets over the Weekend, Sear had a 12 piece set on sale for $60, Harbor Freight had a 13 piece set for $20 after all the coupons!! Both have a lifetime warranty and the HF were made in Taiwan not China!!☺
that's why you wait til she's gone. Of course I got caught once doing something similar... had a set of heads in the dishwasher. It didn't go over well... but I have to say, the dishwasher is an EXCELLENT parts washer for sure.
there's people on RUclips with 1+million subs... but they don't have what roadking has... experience!
my favourite RUclipsr hands down
Thanks for the kind words Juicy!!☺
Thanks for this Roadking. A pleasure to watch. I am going to get one of these little engines.
Thanks Bruce!! Good luck finding one, these things are rarer than Hens teeth in Canada!! This one almost made it there!!☺
It'll be good as new, when you get done with it. Nice vid!
Thanks Jeff!! We had fun with this one, more relaxing than the high pressure builds!!☺

It's sure coming together quick, Roadking! Thanks, Bud.
Yeah, no fabricating or R&D!! Just a straight forward resto!! Thanks for watching Bud!!☺
This is coming on really well now. It will look stunning when it's done. I was amazed when you picked out which screws go with what but I guess you've done it a few times now.
Thanks MrShin!! Alotta practice!!☺
It's a pretty amazing engine given it's age. Nice build so far.
Thanks alot Wyatt!! Yeah this one held up very well!!☺
That's going to be one good looking engine when it's done.
Yeah we're real pleased the way it's turning out!!☺
Man that engine is looking good!!

Thanks Bud!! Yeah the gaabage goes out every Thurs!!☺
Hey Roadking, have you ever thought about converting an old Briggs to run on Diesel?
Nah, the block couldn't take it, you'd have to build so much nothing would be Briggs!!☺
Made me laugh when you were moving that crap around with the razor blade, engine's looking great by the way!
Thanks Bud!! I bet you thought I was gonna snort it eh, Roadking don't play that shit!!☺
Good walk through
Harbor Freight just got all their free screwdrivers paid for in advertising. Love HF free tools!
Yeah Buddy!! ☺
Looking good man, keep it up!!
Thanks Bud!!☺
4:50, You're supposed to do that stuff off cam :-). Nice work my friend.
Thanks Buddy!! Roadking don't play that shit!!☺
How hard is it to find the washer that goes with the engines? I just think that would be a great way to wash rags in my garage.
It's not tough if ya know where to look!! It would be great for that!! He's one of my old ones!! ruclips.net/video/8qpDgSktoE8/видео.html
Somewhere other than Ebay? Your old one would be perfect for what I want.
Meanwhile I'm sat here fiddling with a Honda GCV-135 carburettor I took off my POSgen project generator (carb was too small for the job, so got a GCV-160 carb which works perfect), just cos engine parts, they're fun to fiddle with... :P
That's the fun part Mate!! Finding the right combo!!☺

Funny thing, those cheap @$$ screwdrivers were made
right here, in the USA!
steve
Good job 👍😃
Thanks Bud!!☺
y0 RK... I think it's time to change your bench towel man! That thing is getting some miles on it. haha
Yeah Buddy!! The Ol' Lady won't let me throw it in Her washing machine!!☺
that's why you wait til she's gone. Of course I got caught once doing something similar... had a set of heads in the dishwasher. It didn't go over well... but I have to say, the dishwasher is an EXCELLENT parts washer for sure.

i have an old rottotiller that sounds like it is trying but it is not starting, any suggestions?
Could be a thousand different things Bud!!☺
I always used a match book cover to set my points.
the deal with the points is crazy
They make a jig for mounting the points, but to me it's just a waste of money!!☺
Yay tripod rides!
Yeah Buddy, hold on!!☺
Ok thank you
why didn't you use the old plug wire?
Because a new one came with the kit, so he decided to put it on rather then reuse the old one...
the old one would make it more original, and was in quite good shape
Yeah, but from what I understand he didn't throw it away, so he can always reinstate it.
yeah, but i would have used the old one, just because of the originality of it
I could almost smell that old coil ...Probably smells like an old tube radio
Yeah Buddy!! The smell of Carcinogens!!☺
18:50 "Shoulder Bolt", try saying that 10x real fast.
Hay
You aren't going to test us after this video to see if we can disassemble and re-assemble these components are you?
I'll probably have to test myself, I usually forget everything I do about 5 days after a build!!☺
Engine is coming together . . . how's the poison ivy coming along?? Rog
Not completely gone but under control!!☺
Hey road king you messed up on the title a little bit.
Thanks Bud!! We corrected it!!☺
No problem!
:)
🙂
I like a videos a lot can you please stop cussing so much thank you
Sure Bud!!☺
