    Great suggestions in your video. I have been using a metatarsal pad with minimum relief. Now I will use the lipstick trick to mark on an insole and cut out the donut to off load that painful site. Creative. I just marked my foot with a marker and guesstimated how to use the pad. I'll just have to buy brighter lipstick to see the mark! Thank you.

      That thing i did to my ortho-the hole- was great , but I got to say, my ankle and back hurt a little now, I guess because I worked some muscles that haven’t worked in years. Lol . I’ll just spend little time in that ortho till the muscles adapt.

    I've learned so much about what might help the searing pain on my feet pads with these Internet tutorials. Six months of this is really getting me depressed. I've seen six professionals but haven't been given a good relief for pain or whats causing it. I am going to try to tape the toes and see if this helps and buy a pad to take pressure off the area. Thanks for the info.

  • @IExpectedBSJustNotThisMuchBS

    Thank you. The hole idea is brilliant and I hope it works for double neuromas (I have two on both feet). I've discovered my custom orthotics has the metatarsal pad in the wrong place on one insert (it's not forward enough and I've had to adapt it with a bit of silicon and also adapted some Superfeet with new silicon metatarsal pads, which are slightly too tall--have been thinking of trying to cut them down). Because of the new gel metatarsal pads, I could put foam on top of my forefoot with a hole cut out, which will also relieve some of the pressure of the slightly higher metatarsal pad. At least that's the theory I'm going to try out. Hope the adapted forefoot pad stays in place. Off to order double sided tape.

      Don’t you just HATE spending huge amounts of money for SUPPOSEDLY CUSTOM ORTHOTICS that are actually NOT? (!). I’ve experienced this problem and have complained with no response from the podiatrist who claimed they could add to the areas of the orthotics to make you happy! Liars! Liars! Liars! I’m so sick of them!

    Dr Blake, this is off topic. I am having hallux limitus pain and pain in the second big toe joint. If there is arthritis in both joints, what are the surgical options? Can you do a cheilectomy on both joints? Also, is there a way to not lose toe length with a cheilectomy? This happened with a bunionectomy on the other foot, causing the second toe to take too much pressure. It’s now a semi-rigid hammertoe. I will try your taping methods. Thanks for another superb video.

    • @drblakeshealingsole
      @drblakeshealingsole  9 месяцев назад

      Cheilectomies can be done to both joints and there is no bone shortening!

      @@drblakeshealingsoleThis was a great video. I live in Boston and had a consult with Dr. Kirby on Valentine’s Day. Been dealing with pain for about 10 months right at base of 2nd toe plantar. I’ve had 2 MRI’s, X-ray and an ultrasound and was dx’d with Flexor Tenosynovitis per effusion next to 2nd flexor tendon. The pain feels like PPT. Both MRIs didn’t see a PPT. Dr. Kirby and I notice inflammation right behind 2nd met. We feel it is a PPT. Got these same instructions. Thank you both. I’ve read papers from you both and watched videos. I’ve seen 4 Dr.’s and 3 said capsulitis and 1 Flexor Tenosynovitis. Needless to say I searched out the best in this topic. Icing and modifications have commenced. ❤

      @@jasonstone5022 Thank you Jason. Give me feedback on what is helping, and what seems it irritate it. If it is PPT, consider 2 months in a bike shoe with embedded cleat both sides along with the Budin Splint. Rich
