I'm sticking with my "wait and see" tactic. Release was so awful, and I've seen some shady things since, so I will believe it when I see it. It's good that they made this a content patch, rather than a DLC release, given how tiny it was, and seemed to add no real interest to the existing flop. Thanks for discussing it with personal insights. 🙂

The suits will never understand the damage they cause by forcing games out before they are ready. CO completely destroyed and uprooted the king of city builders: Sim City - and now they are generating this rushed product. That being said, I like the game, and as my flavor shifts to other genres for a bit, I am happy to wait for them to fix things up and bring in new content. Refunding the beaches DLC was a sign of good faith in my book, even if I am an Ultimate edition owner.

Agreed 100% very well said. It’s a good game and I eagerly await it being what it can be :)

trust is hard to get, but easy to lose.
As we say in Finland when everything is not going well:
They really peed on their own feet.
They shot themselves in the knee.

I live in Florida and walk the beaches, drive around the neighborhoods, visit beach businesses. In addition to no beaches, the Beachless DLC was not what I see around me. It left me speechless. I am glad that this announcement was signed off by both CO and Paradox so hopefully both are now on the same page. I do not believe they were before. They overpromised from the beginning of their development and I fear CS2 can never be that game. I also feel that they ignored those who contributed to the Workshop and even if they include them now (and I hope they do invite them to that small group) the game may be too broken. How much harder is it to create CS2 assets and props? Just look at the lack of variety in their ground textures so far. And assets now have to be involved in AI decisions. Will asset creators give up? If fixes and upgrades break assets, will they just be abandoned? Do we wait for a CS3 from CO or some other developer?

It’s definitely not going to be a smooth road ahead I fear. I hope things turn around and I agree it seems paradox and CO are maybe communicating a bit better about expectations and how realistic each others expectations are. Cautiously optimistic but I think they still have a lot of work ahead of them to try to get to where they want to be.

Short and simple.. They rushed the release and thought they coulr fix the game as they go and no one will complain.. But it backfired and the game is just broken..

What is so strange to me is they had several years of proven market research with CS:1 and still got it wrong. The broken aspect is inexcusable, but putting out a base game without a handful of mods that the community totally embraced is mind blowing. No bicycles or rocks, WTF? I've already bought the game so I'm still going to hope they get it right. Until then I'll just play other games. Maybe touch some grass, WHOA let's not get crazy.
On a happier note, I'm looking forward to your contributions to the Cities Skylines 6 collaboration.

Yeah it’s a wild scenario honestly but hopefully they really do take the response into consideration and make up for it. And me too!! Excited and honored to have been invited in and I think it’ll be a lot of fun!

Normally i don't expect anything from anyone in life so i can never be disappointed. In the case of cs2, i have to admit, that after seeing the trailers coming from a studio that made the best city builder game ever & knowing the game will not be in early access from the begining, i had at least, let's say, hopes... But they were completely crushed and until today the game is at least for me a still unplayable mess. When i need to restart the game every time i want to play 3-5 times until the few mods I'm using to get a halfway good experience out of the game will finally load and not crash the game... I just rather forget about it than wasting any time. Currently i also have no hopes anymore that cs2 will ever give me as much fun as cs1 did, no matter what the devs say or promise...

It really is such a shame how the launch has been. It’s a bummer to see people lose hope in the game but I can hardly blame you. It’s just not up to scratch at all rn.

Didn't they say similar things after CS2 landed with a thud, lots of mea culpas we won't let this happen again, and then they released the dlc with so much hate. I want this game to succeed, but its hard stay positive, especially with the continual missteps

I feel you on that. I think it’s nice this time they’ve gone a bit more in depth with what exactly their plans are to do better but time will tell whether they’re just stringing us along

Why anyone would be anxious or excited about a console release I have no idea. If you buy that before you take a serious look at it, you are to blame not CO and Paradox. The PC game is garbage and will be for the foreseeable future, be warned.
I truly hope they can turn it around but have little to no trust in them at this point.
