Without paperwork, 69-72's are a dicey proposition, this car could have started it's life as a Malibu, after 50 years all of this stuff could have been added

80k is way to much for a non numbers matching Chevelle. Everything has been changed, even the interior, glass, engine, rear differential, rear stick on emblems and list goes on. I appreciate Patric and how honest this man is. This is a resto mod car honestly.

My opinion is that if the born with motor, transmission and rear are gone, especially with and LS-6, then it is no longer an LS-6. Like many others, the 1970 is my favorite of all Chevelles. Astro blue/black stripes is my 2nd favorite combination (tuxedo black/no stripe is #1 for me). However, IF I was in the market for one, that white interior would be a deal breaker for me. On the other hand, my wife found and bought the tuxedo black 1970 Malibu that I built, "street raced" then sold years ago, so I'm not in the market. Our 70 is in my shop and we're restoring/upgrading it back to fighting shape right now. Even though it's "just" a Malibu, it has sentimental value to us. I don't care if this car goes into the registry or not, it's a beautiful car, even with that white interior.

This model, from the Franklin Mint, is faithfully designed/reproduced just like the real item. It too is in Hugger Orange, F 70 14 Firestone Polyglass tires on the Chevy SS wheels, the Hood opens to reveal that massive Big Block with the Chromed 180° open Air Cleaner, the rectangular Chrome exhaust tips, a floor mounted stick shift etc, etc. This model looks like a full scale car, shrunk down. Every detail is exactly like the full scale vehicle. And it's heavy.

I have a Malibu that I converted to an SS clone. It all depends on what you want out of the car. If you're like me and you just want a car that goes, handles, and drives down the road nice, then a clone is good. I can cut holes in things for stereo equipment, upgrade the suspension and not worry about affecting value. I put a completely different engine in it. I painted it a completely non-period correct candy blue. Now if your one of those guys who parks it in shows and pulls out a chair and needs to brag on it for 8 hours to everyone walking by and needs to show all the paperwork to everyone then this might be the car for you :)

If everything about this car was correct and it had its original documentation it would probably fetch 150K-175K, so the owner is basically giving a 50% discount because his(or her) car lack of these details. I would say that the asking price is in the ballpark, and just because he is asking 80K doesn't mean that he wouldn't take less. JMO.

Looks like it was a factory a/c car that they did a delete on. This thing needs a LOT of asterisks beside it.

Really needs to have all matching tinted glass. Black interior kit too then it would really have the look.

The hood closed by itself. Must be Christine's cousin. Beautiful Car. Too bad the original drivetrain and interior are gone.

Does anyone know the name of the guy that designed the looks of the 1970 Chevelle?? Whoever he is, he should be given a star on the Walk Of Fame for genius design. The best looking muscle ever. Nothing before or after ever matched the 1970 Chevelle.

Very nicely done with the changes .. maybe a bit pricey for not being an original drive train car. But a very very nice driver.. Thanks for another great video Patrick, great to see you out an about again

Don't worry about the price. Cars like this are heading across the Atlantic. He will get the money, and the car will get a boat ride.

Nice car, did all LS6's and LS5 454 cars with 4sp come with the M22 ?

Yes. The m21 can't handle that much torque/hp.

I have a 70 Malibu, but I also have a 70 396/402, 70 bucket seats, a 70 SS dash, and a 70 hood. Trying to decide on doing a "recreation". Would be painted 70 Forest Green Metallic to go with the green interior.

I always liked the 71-72 better with the single headlights and round tail lights
