In his acceptance letter, he focused on recovering from his injury (which yeah sure, if I was in a similar situation, I’d put some emphasis on it too), but I don’t recall anything else being stated either. Top universities require good grades while having a good story is more bonus than anything else

Kenny wasn’t heading down a good path, which is why Robby and the others took initiative and got involved. Might seem like he should be minding his own business but he just wants what’s best for Kenny especially since he’s the one who introduced him to cobra kai. After the fight even Shawn realized giving Robby another chance might be the right thing to do
