I'm probably a strange exception. I don't really care about recycled cars. I also don't care much about the graphics. But what really upsets me is the dumbing down of gameplay and progression. Horizon 4 and 5 just got boring far too quickly.
If you look for example Integra, NSX, R32 Skyline in older games, you will see how much customization in bumpers these cars had compared with today
A lot of cars had decent customisation in older forza games.

When ever I Google a car that I want to have in FH5, I always see the good cars in Forza Motorsport 4. One of my favorite Porsches is the 2012 Porsche Cayman R and it’s in FM4 and not FH5, it’s not fair!
Forza motorsport 4 was goated in my opinion, especially the discounts you get from certain manufacturers’ affinity level, you can build your car without spending a penny (apart from body kits and engine swaps) max upgrade your cars for free
Considering Turn 10's decision to let go of some of the cars for the Series X-era of Forza, that makes perfect sense.

I only noticed it today but the Hennessey Camaro exorcist has a manual shift animation and yet flappy paddles behind the steering wheel.

well the reason kinect integration was removed was probably because of the privacy allegations of the xone kinect of it invading privacy and sharing it online.

I had a thing when I was a kid in forza horizon 1 where I would damage the cars and see how damaged they could get new forza like 5 isn't the sa.e 9:09
The Egregious Recycling issue could be Fixed for FH6 by Dropping the Live Services FOMO Playlist Nonsense and just going back to the Old Model of Straight to Autoshow On Day One for Returning Cars, and Paid DLC for New Cars (and it does appear PGG may be planning to do so as we have had cars being added to Autoshow again in FH5 and have also seen the Return of Paid DLC!) with any "recycled" Cars added Post Launch added straight to Autoshow and only held back either because the Remodelling (as some of them urgently need Remodelling!) has taken longer than Expected due to the Difficulty in Finding a Stock Example of the Car to Model from! (as I do not think you are, as Example, going to find a Stock S15 Spec R outside of the Nissan Corporate Museum these days!) or there has ben a Licensing Hiccup that cannot be Resolved in Time for Launch, Yes, Recycling would still be Present, but it would not be Egregious anymore.
Time Intervals were not helped by FM8 taking far longer to Develop due to the 18/6 Contracts which also reduced the Game to Utter Shovelware, Miss 'Rona causing Global Chaos and putting everything back by 2 Years, and the need to create an all New Graphics Engine to take Advantage of Series X and PC.
Rally Adventure also taking longer to Develop due to Torben Ellert (its Chief Director) also becoming Chief Director on Horizon Itself when Brown, thankfully, Quit/Got Fired, and Torben then had to Oversee a lot more than just an Expansion, such as getting FH5 back on its Wheels (as, under him, it has gone from "Meh at best, Awful at worst" to "Pretty Solid for what it is" , which is a massive Improvement!) so that caused a Delay there.
Flop Gear was causing an Extreme number of Licensing Issues, with Several Brands openly *Refusing to License* due to the Presence of Flop Gear in the Game, that is why they got Dropped in the End. The Dropping of the Detail Heavy, fully Voiced, Forza Vista after FH3 and FM7 however was Doubtless due to the Games going under a Pair of "Corporate Suits" in Mike Brown and Chris Ezaki (and when you Remember that Ezaki (who, TBH, has also Probably been Fired! MS would have to have lost all the Sense they were Born with to keep him on after that Debacle of a Launch!) was *ex EA* a lot of the issues with FM8 suddenly start making a lot of Sense!) who, not being Car Enthusiasts and thus Unable to tell a 2JZ GTE from an RB26 DETT even if you clonked them on the Shins with the Crank Journals, probably did not see why such "expense" was "needed" on a Feature that had no appeal for them, as it was not Exploitable for MTX (Ezaki) or was Not Pushing Battle Royale Gameplay Mechanics (Brown), and only appealed to "Nerds" and not the Casual Audience they, indeed, were aiming for as they are more willing to accept Low Effort "Expansion Pack Sequels" than Older, more Experienced, Gamers like us are!
Sadly, although it is true that the Forza Aero Desperately needs Redesigning as the Current one is Way out of Date and downright Ugly, a lot of Car Companies are *Refusing* to allow it to be Redesigned because they are worried the new Design could be "Street" Inspired, and those Companies Forbid "Street Customization" in their Licensing Contracts owing to Fears of PR Image Damage in China, India, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and Several Other Nations that have Recently Legalised Western/Gaming and where Car Customization is not only illegal, but also Taboo! MS needs to try a lot Harder to Convince the Car Companies to allow the Aero to be Remodelled by assuring them it will be modelled Purely on the Latest FIA Approved GT3 Formula Aero Parts.
Sadly, I cannot help but feel that the Presence of all the BEV Crossovers in Forza Now is because the Car Companies know that they do not stand a chance of Selling them due to Increasing User Distrust for EV's, and General Hatred of Crossovers by Car Enthusiasts (they being nothing more than "White Goods", a Fridge on Wheels basically, to us) so they want them Advertised in Games in the Hope little Timmy's Mum may buy one because it was in his Game, as a result, many are Forcing Games Developers to add the BEV Crossovers into the Game in order to get the License Rights to their more Exciting Cars!
Kinect, if I Recall Correctly, was Abandoned because it Fell Foul of the Data Privacy Legislation in the European Union as it was Sharing Data Online without Permission, which is a Breach of the EU's Data Protection and Privacy Laws.
Damage, indeed, is not Forza's Fault, and in this Era of Increasing Paranoia about their PR Images among Car Companies as new Car sales Nosedive in the west and the Increasing need for the Asian and the Muddle Eastern markets, where having a Squeaky Clean PR Image due to all the Myriad Taboos found in Countries that are Primarily either Islamic or Communist, just to even stay afloat, I guess we should be Grateful that they even permit so much as Scratches on the Paintwork!

I just hope they Scrap the Playlist/FOMO Nonsense and go back to the Old Model of Straight to Autoshow for Returning Cars and Paid DLC for New Cars, no more Time Limited Chore Chart Drip Feed Live Services Rubbish!

Do not get me wrong, I *despise* Paid DLC, I think Games should be sold complete *by Law* , but given a choice between FOMO (which really *does* need to be made *Illegal* along with MTX and Lootbox Gambling!) and Paid DLC, I will take Paid DLC over FOMO every single Time!

1 had the best story and festival atmospheric hands down. 2 had somewhat of a story with decent progression.
