Els Tres Tombs de Sant Andreu de Palomar (The Three Tombs of Sant Andreu de Palomar) is one of the most traditional and charming events in Barcelona. Dedicated to Saint Anthony Abbot, the patron saint of animals, this procession of beautifully decorated carriages and horses takes place through the streets of this iconic neighbourhood of Barcelona.
The name Tres Tombs refers to the three rounds participants make around the church, a ritual symbolizing the blessing of the animals. This custom has medieval roots and celebrates the special bond between humans and animals, especially in agricultural communities.
