I'm so GLAD you recognized that Cleope (Pope & Cleo) are the superior ship! They have the most chemistry and lean on each other in a healthy way. I hope to see more moments of them next season. Also, I think the point of Outer banks is the mystery and class differences of the island, so them doing Blackbeard's treasure next season is on brand. Like what else would they do in this show, be a soap opera?
Not everyone else in town (looking at you Kiara’s parents) finally accepting them when they actually bring back the real treasure I would have still been so salty regardless.
craziest thing about kitty hawk is places like that actually exist and many parents are mislead and send their kids to prison like camps. Its a very deep rabbit hole and a really scary thing that hasn’t been deemed illegal. this show is wild but i applaud them for raising awareness.
As a therapist them telling Kie she had ODD, which is a real diagnosis in children, and saying medication can fix it pisses me off because there is no protocol for medicating ODD. It’s a behavioral disorder for major defiance toward authority figures in either home, school or both but it’s only treated through behavioral interventions and therapy not medication.

Bringing back Big John was crucial for John B’s character development. If his dad didn’t come back he would’ve spent his entire life stuck on “he’s still out there somewhere!” And we needed to move on from that. He ultimately lost his life helping his son achieve generational wealth, that’s a good ending to his story. I actually liked Big John this season. A lot of men grow up being told they need to provide for their family and equate providing to being a good parent. He genuinely believed his son wouldn’t appreciate him as a father unless he found that gold. In the end he realised that wasn’t the case and gave up his decades of research so that his son could survive. His storyline is hard to understand unless you’re a man. Women are moulded to be very nurturing so it’s easy to say “stop looking for treasure and be a father.” But as men, how hard we work reflects our parenting. The harder you work to provide for your children, the better you are as a father. At least that’s what we’re groomed to believe. Kiara’s dad was also justified. He worked hard to make a good life for his daughter. From his perspective, Kiara has been missing school, has gone missing, is getting arrested etc. because she’s “looking for treasure” (which even you admitted was dumb) with her dodgy friend group. Also Ward died in a boat explosion witnessed by several officers and towns people, of course nobody believed he’s alive.
There’s a chance that Rafe could be bipolar, and schizophrenic based on the way he acts and how quickly his behavior and mood changes. Also Ward was a better father than Big John was…..at least Ward gave Sarah a bit of money, and the condo…..Big John cared more about the treasure.

I 100% big john could have contacted john b a long time a go, he did now cause he knew john b had the diary. Big john was the type of person that always justified himself and lied and manipulated. John b didn't deserved any of that. I can't imagine how his childhood was with a father that went days missing after gold and only abused him mentally and emotionally.

Thank goodness i wasn't the only one, the Kie and JJ shippers ruined their own ship... like they killed all the chemistry between the 2 actors after rudely harassing Madison and Rudy to get together irl. I was rooting for them but this season their whole relationship felt so forced and it lost the genuine chemistry that used to shine through. Kie had more chemistry with Rafe at this point and that's saying something... but, nah I'm not for them getting together anymore. There was nothing organic about it normally they do the ships so seamlessly but them in this season was not doing it.
But as unserious as this show is as a whole I really get pissed whenever the kooks start a fight and they still don’t get arrested at all it was fighting tooth and nail just to get them to look at rafe for that murder. Jon B usually get beat err time and still be the one getting arrested 😩😂😂
Right when I think 💭she must’ve cut out the big John scenes you mention he wasn’t in those episodes 😂 I watched when the season dropped & tuned him out at a point as well he was NEVER likable I’ll miss Ward more 🫢
