Jamila showed the world just how talented she is with Legacy Legacy. Tracks that radiate with an empowering light, shake with soul and passion and shine with rich, mellifluous arrangements. Don't get me started on her lyrics as well. So many bad ass moments in this live performance
Metal af. And how good it feels to hear someone so articulate and avaliable on KEXP from time to time? Many of the artists who go there sound a bit obnoxious and vague, almost unresponsive to some great questions posed by Cheryl Waters and others. Hope I don't sound patronizing, but yeah, great insights about her process and endgame.
Exactly, I couldn't even listen to Bill Callahan's interview. Cheryl is so nice and like you say great questions but he sounded half asleep. I know maybe they're touring (at least digitally rn) but still...
I don't wish to be nasty but just heard Tiny Garden on the radio, thought her voice was flat so searched for live performances. I can hear the flatness in your voice here too so I hope you can work on that because you have a lot of potential.

Jamila Woods talking about inspirations of Afro-futurism and "Ego Tripping" is just perfect for me right now. ✌🏿🧡

You know it's gonna be fire when the keyboardist has a Black Sabbath t-shirt and the drummer one with a radioactive sign :)

Wow, this is 'SERIOUS' stuff, interview-wise.
Could have been a bit more music.
