Rock Wit U is suchhhh a BOP!!!! It’s so sad how they act like Janet had no influence …. And the record wasn’t pushed by the label at all … Feedback still debuted in Top 10 regardless …. Janet is the QUEEN OF POP/R&B

This is a fantastic album. Not to mention underrated and overlooked. Unfortunately, older artists like Janet, Madonna, Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Toni Braxton are very underrated with their last 3-4 albums. Ageism works here.

The album Discipline was my introduction to Janet Jackson. "Feedback" was the first song I ever heard, and it immediately captivated me. What's truly remarkable about this album is its timeless appeal; it hasn't aged a bit and remains among my top 3 favorite Janet Jackson albums, alongside "janet." and "The Velvet Rope."

half of the album is really good, it's slick, sexy, uptempo - many of these songs would not sound dated at the club even today. unfortunately, with all the interludes and ballads listening to the album becomes a bit of a chore. shame on all the media outlets that canceled Janet for something that was not even her fault, but when they have an opportunity to take down a poc woman, they'll always take it. anyhoo, Feedback, Rock with U, So Much Betta and The 1 are amazing.

It did well. It wasn't spectacular but its janet and she never really disappoints. Her dancing was top shelf during the displince era she slayed, vocally her voice was fire on discipline but the project in its entirety is a solid C. Feedback, rock with you, discipline are top tier standouts. Luv; roller-coaster can't b good,2 nite are good but there not on continous repeat 4 me. The material doesn't really bring out the best of janet but somehow it brought out the best of its producers
But i remember being in record stores when it came out and saw people buying discipline because of feedback. Give janet 2-3 solid singles from an album its going platinum.

Not her best album at all, but Feedback is fantastic, and Rock With U was ahead of its time! She did indeed confirm she made Rock With U for the gays lol. She was still suffering from the Super Bowl backlash during this time, and the label didn't promote it much at all.

Janet is still not getting her flowers. Her discography is FUNDAMENTAL for the pop industry we have today and the whole scene of upcoming RnB & Pop artists have Miss Jackson written all over them. It still fills me with anger that the whole superbowl scandal had such an impact on her career (and unsurprisingly not on that of a cis het white man like JT....). GIVE MISS JACKSON HER FLOWERS!!!

    • @Twink182

LA Reid treated Janet horribly. He stated that she is the most difficult artist he’s ever worked with. I just believe that he didn’t know what to do with the album. She brought him the hits and artistic direction, but he just didn’t know how to market it.
