Admittedly, there are a couple things here and there that bother me about this, but it takes well over an hour to render just once, and I am writing this while my immune system undergoes rigorous training (i.e. COVID vaccine, lol). Still can't draw either, of course. Couldn't even be bothered to draw table legs in the background!
Unlike Drummer Duel, this only took exactly two weeks to complete (August 4th to August 18th), and with existing progress on Fireworks and Space Soccer, we could be seeing these uploads happening more frequently.
...as if, lol. In any case, the graphics and animations here won't be publicly available until the end of the year, just like with Drummer Duel. Any member of a certain private Discord server can request the assets, provided that I have actually prepared all of its parts properly by then. Otherwise, you can wait patiently for... the reason I am withholding these.
Oh, and I do want to express once again that this is a reanimation, not a functional, playable game. There's no "Love Lab Mania" at this current time, nor would I attempt to falsely claim such a thing. "Gameplay Demonstration" is still an appropriate term, since it's a demonstration of what gameplay could look like, not that it is actual gameplay.

This was awesome!! If the Rhythm Heaven team were to recreate the DS games in widescreen, this seems like something they would do, even more! The boxes hiding the squirrel guy was hilarious, especially when the height of the song revealled him. Very creative and fun!

Love how you do get to see to see the assistant's face later on. Its a nice twist. Also I just love how it becomes night time and both end up under a spotlight at the song's climax! Its just so cute!

The assistant's face getting revealed later on reminds me of Exhibition Match, where the monkey gets revealed on the last pitch.

LMAO I love how the Mysterious Lab Tech is covered by boxes to emulate how he was cut off in the DS version.
This is great. Love Lab has always been one of my favorites.
One little nitpick though is that I wish a Skill Star was in here somewhere. 1:16 always seemed like the perfect spot.

I'm kinda glad to see one of these without a skill star because it makes it feel more in line with the original game's style, just remake in HD
I love that, on top of inheriting the elusive mysterious fourth lab tech (the one throwing the flasks into frame, from off-screen) from the original, this also adds an elusive mysterious FIFTH lab tech who moves the boxes out of the lab area.

@@Anthony_Smith365 I think it would be weirder if someone who knows Puyo Puyo *didn't* compare him to Risukuma seeing as they're both love-themed scientists who are normally holding flasks, as well as the obvious physical similarities, to the point where I'd expect if one _isn't_ a reference to the other both of them *must* be a reference to something else.
This genuinely amazing, this looks like a minigame ripped straight out of megamix...but the quality of this is too high for megamix...

This is incredible, the transition to night during the buildup to the climax, and then the spotlight, the lab tech reveal, and the girl beginning to consistently look at her crush to signify she’s gotten comfortable… you’ve earned a subscription, can’t wait to see what you remake next!

love lab is one of my favorites but if i hear ONE MORE PERSON SUGGEST USING THE CONTROL STICK FOR SHAKING THE FLASKS IM GONNA LOSE IT

Why would you use the control stick instead of the D-Pad? That would work much better

I always thought that the 3DS buttons could be something like this:
A and Hold = Grab the potion.
D-Pad = Shake it once.
Release A = Throw the potion.
OK I did not think of using the D-Pad for this, that’s really clever!

Imagine Rhythm Heaven for Nintendo Switch where you plays with your friends using motion control. Fuckt it 1-2 Switch! This is what we all want for a party game.

This was a great remake, but I do have a question. How are you suppose to control this with buttons
press a to catch. while holding press a to shake, B to throw
This should have been one of the RHDS shop game’s instead of Big Rock Finish. I can imagine the shaking can be done by mashing the d-pad up and down.
