- Enjoy an updated tour & walkthrough of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, filmed on July 24th 2024. Most of the construction around the resort is complete, but there is some loud concrete work being done right outside Gasparilla Island Grill. You'll also get a look inside at the new Mary Poppins themed rooms that first debuted in 2022. Mickey's Mercantile in the main building has also been completely updated with a new color scheme & theming all around the store.

🐧MK resort Saturday! From the character inlets in the marble to the crystal chandeliers (& penguins on pillows), the GF is truly lovely and as always you did a great job conveying it to us. I didn't realize you could get that monorail shot (it makes sense though) from ground level & I guess they have enough weddings to keep that carriage out. (I thought the elements would corrode it) I've wanted to leave MK, have a bite at Gasparilla's, then go back...heard the food is decent. Thoughts? thx 4💜
The main building at the GF has always been one of the most beautiful lobbies to me for sure, I’m glad that “retheme” they did ended up being a really light one. Disney really made it sound like they were gonna completely change the interior, unless that was originally the plan but they heard the majority of guest were against that. I haven’t dined at Gasparilla’s since before the pandemic but I thought the food was really good! They have better options than most quick services at WDW so I’d definitely go if you had time! We have been going here for the last 23+ years. Always stay at the Sugar Loaf building concierge. Does anyone remember the older shorter gentleman greeting everyone as they came in ? He was there probably for 20 years or so. Love Enchanted Rose ( used to be Mizners Lounge) Narcoosies, Citricos and of course Vic and Al's We will be down again in Oct for the Food and Wine Fest as we have done every year for the last 23 years. Thanks for the vid.
I believe the older gentleman passed away. We miss seeing him there as well.
@@NansGlobalKitchen Yes he did about 7-8 years ago he was the best. You remember the "cat lady" she sat in the lobby with her stuff cats everyday. She was sweet also. She passed also.

Was there July 7-14 and didn’t see any construction. Whatever construction is still going on would be minimal. Book away!
@@MikeyDVC thanks for the heads up. I'm turn between here, the poly or the beach club area. I'm going solo to just take things at my own pace, and mostly meander but also really enjoy the resorts. Immersion is the goal but also some time to draw, maybe sit by the pool and truly relax. Open to suggestions.

We've stayed at the DVC building twice. We'll be there in 4 weeks. It'll be a bittersweet trip as my wife had an accident that has left her a quadriplegic. We've been going to WDW for 20+ years and we know it'll be different for us. Hoping to find the "magic" again....

We've never stayed here but we've visited during Christmas season and it's absolutely beautiful!! The pool and water play area are really nice too! This was a great walk-thru, very detailed. Thank you as always!

@@4KWDW Thankyou my friend I am doing much better just my head is a little sore from where I got 6 stapled put in my head. I had a nasty fall I was walking and slipped and fell. I had no broken bones though lol just my head

I believe there used to be actual birds living in those cages when the resort first opened!
After they removed the GF Orchestra, I won’t be going back there. Nicer hotels for the money just off property.

That’s one of the boats that takes you to the Magic Kingdom, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian
The orchestra is no longer employed to play music there. Disney does not like to pay for entertainers
Why is the noise level so bad in the lobby. Sounds like children screaming and running amok. Not as peaceful and genteel as they try to portray it. Be loud at the parks or outside. People come to the hotel to rest and recharge.
So not my favorite resort. I mean it’s beautiful and all. Just doesn’t feel Disneyesque (if you know what I mean).
My parents will be staying here while im visiting in a few weeks. I probably come visit (and yes, nothing is stopping me from coming down; back out of the hospital. Lupus sucks).
Honestly, other than the number of restaurants, and the view from MK, (and the resort being on the monorail line) the GF is just way too out of my price range to stay.

I’m so glad that you’re out of the hospital my friend! And I agree with you, the GF is beautiful but it’s never really been one of my places to stay. I do enjoy hanging out there from time to time when I’m at MK but the rooms really are super pricey
