@@flocklife I first saw you guys on birdtricks , taking a balloon ride. Galahs are such crazy fun birds, I'm from 🇭🇲 and would see them in the wild ,like the corella ,sholpha crested cockatoo and the black cockatoo. All crazy noisy lol. They love to celebrate when they fly.💖🦜🌞💗
all the sanding is sweet of them but dowels are bad for your babies feet n sanding makes it more a chance your birb will develop bumble foot, its very painful for birds, what i do is when i get permission to cut branches off trees i go nuts n take what i can, i power wash the lot and stick what I'm not using that day on the bird room roof to sun bake, weathering it makes it safe, i bake anything i need faster, but now i always have a supply so rarely have to bake branches, its cute but would be easy to swap out dowels for wood branches, as long as you can find out if they have ever been sprayed for pests, if it has it cant be used, if there's any doubt don't use it, dowels will do, there made from wood that doesn't get sprayed, I've also seen ppl put vet wrap on them, my lot would nibble that so i don't..
So dowels have definitely been demonized because of improper use and there are definitely better perches out there in general, but just because this is a dowel perch doesn’t mean it’s inherently bad. What’s most Important is providing a variety of different perches. If this was the only option BOGIE had it could be problematic but since he has choice and freedom of flight he can hang out on this perch for as long as he wants to and fly off, walk on the floor stretch his feet out. Land on a different sized perch etc. Foot bumbles are horrible and usually occur when an owner doesn’t provide variety within perches! Hope this helps provide a bit more clarity
hey not trying to sound like a karen but dowels are NOT good for birds so id scrape the perch with a knife to give it texture (coming from someone whose owned atleast 15 birds) ps im not trying to be rude:)
The real issue with dowel perches are if that is the only way to perch, or what a bird primarily uses in his or her cage. If the bird has other options, and can fly, walk on flat surfaces and other size perches a dowel perch isn't an issue. Bogie doesn't sit on one perch long enough for sores or foot problems to occur. I can see this being a huge problem if a bird only has a dowel perch and maybe does not have access to other activities/or flight. Hope this makes sense and I don't think you're being a karen!
Bogie: "thank goodness nobody saw, or ESPECIALLY recorded me falling through the perch, right guys?
Mom & Dad: (stabbing the "post" button)
😂😂😂 Poor little guy
Lol like a basketball through a hoop 😂
The bird was so interested in this project that he's probably watching this video over and over.
Lol "all net" basketball shot there Bogie! 😂 I love that your bed matches the perches too, they all look so great together! 🤩💕
