Really pretty colours. Thank you for sharing your technique. I am trying to learn this art and would like to know if there is any difference between alcohol ink or dyes in terms of fading. Do you have a preference? Also, what did you rinse the silk in, and how many times in order to set the dyes? Thank you so much.
@Sheila Jackson Art - I don’t use much alcohol inks, and with my limited experience, I’ve found that alcohol inks fades faster - of course, this depends on the process one uses. I rinsed once in cold tap water (if the quality of your tap water is poor, you can use distilled water). TheOceangirl28 - The link to the inks I purchased is in the description box below the video, but I’ll put it here too: Dye / Ink (beginner’s kit): amzn.to/3mlELHu Silk handkerchief: amzn.to/35CQASL. Thanks for watching! 💚
@Lora Rozkowski - I think you put too much ink on the paper towel - the ink should not be runny - put just enough ink to saturate the towel so it’s the same dampness as the ink pads sold in the stores. Thanks for watching! 💚
Margie Picard - I used the same ink / dye that I used on the handkerchief - I doubled a piece of paper towel for a makeshift ink pad (if you have an unused ink pad, even better). Thanks for watching!💚
