  • Reshma Nargund, PhD candidate at the Nicholas School of the Environment. Nargund is passionate about studying the effects of air pollution on human health. For her doctoral work, she focused on understanding the impact of air pollution exposure during pregnancy on the epigenome (gene expression) of the infant and its relationship to birth outcomes and neighborhood disadvantages.
During the fall semester of 2023, she spoke at the John Hope Franklin Center’s ‘Wednesdays at the Center’ series with her lecture ‘From Genes to You: Understanding Epigenetics’. In this talk, she delved into the captivating world of genetic regulation beyond the traditional understanding of DNA. The event was co-sponsored by von der Heyden Global Fellows and Nicholas School of the Environment.
