Great video! Sanctuary and Hyatt Zilara CC are on my bucket list. It's hard to find a luxury adults only resort that isn't sleepy. My cousin and I are in our 50's so aren't looking for foam parties, we just want some fun poolside music and a nightly show/music/dancing.

Just got back from a stay at the gorgeous Sanctuary Cap Cana and it was everything you said it was Blanche and more! Food was great, service was excellent, our butler Eric was awesome ( we stayed in the Castle Junior Suite Gardenview). We were treated beautifully by everyone! Thanks for this review. Currently trying to decide on an adults only resort in DR for our first getaway without kids. We aren’t partiers but we are in our mid 30’s and I wonder if this might be too quiet? But the idea of going into Punta Cana or on an excursion one day might break things up. We are also big foodies.
The food in Punta Cana is always just average if you’re a foodie! But I loved this place. Also Excellence brands are great but the beach is the brown sand not the white

We just got back from our honeymoon and it was amazing! This video was a big reason for us choosing it and I even mentioned that in my TripAdvisor review. We stayed in the castle and it was just simply amazing!
@@3Days3Noches There was plenty of nightlife options I felt. Friday Night I guess is Dominican Night and they had a fun local artist display and live band playing. Most every other night there was music, karaoke, etc going on. There always seemed to be people in the Love Bar or in Sanctuary Town at night as well. We did some of those a bit but also just enjoyed some more quiet time at Ocean Bar or on our Balcony. Definitely seemed like if anyone wanted a more active nightlife that Margaritaville next door would be a good option, but that wasn't what we were after for this trip.

Which resorts would you recommend for us to stay? It can be in Punta Cana, Cajun, Playa Mujeres etc. We have been to cancun but never been to all inclusive. I am interested to stay at Isla Mujures since it seem to have a gorgeous beach & lots of walking distance restaurants/can rent a golf cart.. Love your review. Very interested in going to this one. My best one has been the miraje and this one seems not so different in quality. And i like the fact that its not a party hotel. If wanna party i go outside the resort at night.

Oh yes, Dominican coffee is amazing. I am Dominican leaving in Canada and I can tell you that is other hotels with stunning beaches in punta cana. The sanctuary ones is just ok one.
Heading there in 4 days, couple questions: 1. Is everything actually included at the resort, I.e. beach access, drink premiums, all pools 2. Do they try to up sale you on anything during checking 3 are all the sanctuary town restaurants included
Yay so fun - some very expensive liquors and lobster dinners are not but yes everything is included- no upscale bc it’s Marriott owned and not all sanctuary restaurants are included. I think the Spanish restaurant is extra

Thank you so much for watching!! So that’s tough. The excellence one is a little more private but I feel that sanctuary is more updated and you feel like you are in a very special place because of the castle setting. They have some really cool villa options too that are right there on the beach.
Maybe they didn’t try to upsell you since you were already staying in the fancy section with a butler? Many people on review sites talk about them trying to upsell you from the more affordable rooms. So next time I’d suggest you reserve a cheaper room. That might be a fairer way of gauging the check-in experience.
Is there ever any music (live or otherwise) poolside? Was everything on site included except the Spanish restaurant? Lastly, was the pool cold because you were there in April? Hoping to visit in Aug maybe Sept but hate cold water!
They did have water aerobics with music but not a DJ. Im pretty sure that was the only restaurant not included! It wasn’t too cold by then it will be nice and warm for you!
We are debating between Sanctuary Cap Cana and Excellence Cap Cana for our Honeymoon in April, 2025. What is your opinion on which us better? We would like to take advantage of night life and activities during the day (bonus points for any cool activities!). Not huge foodies. We would love a great beach and pool set up. Is the Sanctuary Cap Cana the best of the Marriott Dominican Hotels? We have points we have to use up and want to go to DR. Looked at their Ocean Club on North Shore as well as Chic Royalton and Royalton Bravaro. We like the seclusion of Sanctuary just a bit concerned about beach and activites. No nighttime, activites just like tennis or kayaking or some physical activity. Any insights?
We stayed at Royalton Bavaro and it was nice but Sanctuary was nicer except the beach part. I didn’t mind the small beach there but the Bavaro beaches are better but can get seaweed. It was def quiet at night. But they said the weekends are better. We were there sun-wed

You mention riding a golf cart a few times...does this mean the layout of the resort isn't very walkable and very spread out? I typically like a layout such as Excellence Playa Mujeres where there's so much to choose from in amenities but all very convenient to walk to. Thanks!
So just so I’m clear. The sanctuary town restaurants are included just not the Mexican one? Do they serve alcohol? Also can you ask the butler for full bottles of wine in the room?
Yes! The one restaurant is not included. Not all of them were open every night. I believe we got our drinks from the bar and brought them down. But I could be wrong. And yes our butler brought me Vodka

Hi, I have a question about the beach. Someone wrote online that if you walk past the castle suites you can reach Juanillo beach, which is a long beach to walk on. That’s really the only issue I have with this resort, the short beach. Did you find that you could keep walking along the beach if you wanted to?
I wouldn’t go back to Le Blanc. It was too boring. Def will go back here and Excellence Playa Mujeres once it’s renovated. We will be staying at the Sun Palace for our 3rd time but mostly because we have a membership benefits we need to use up. It’s very nice just not enough seating around the pool sometimes. So hard to pick just one 🤣

Pool temperatures… I’m looking at an August trip and wondering what the pool temps are like. Especially with a swim up room. Will it be too chilly or too warm to enjoy?
That’s so exciting. Here’s a video I did on tipping. Usually $1-2 per visit to the bar and buffets $3-5 at night. Butlers you should tip more. I did a whole separate one on that too:).

I booked with them months ago. It said book now and pay later. I been waiting for them to charge me. I leave June 22. I feel like my trip isn’t complete until it’s paid for. I called the resort they couldn’t give me a date that they will take the money😖 I’m worried because I used my debit card and lifted the amount that I can have charged for 72 hours and scared they will not do it within in the next 3 days.
Usually when they book it will send you an email and tell you the exact date or how many weeks ahead of time! I just checked my email and it’s says by 30 days ahead of time.
Yes they offer alternatives but not the best I’ve seen! You will have to go with the already gluten free items like eggs, meats etc tortillas but they could be crossed contaminated

Thanks for watching! MM may have a few better food options and again the beautiful Bavaro Beach. But they don’t have the Sanctuary town which we liked. Sanctuary felt more like a honeymoon spot to me. Majestic is great but not as special feeling. Another cool thing about Sanctuary is that it is located in Cap Cana so there are some pretty exclusive resorts and restaurants that you could go to (not included of course) at the Eden Roc. But agin if you really love that long walkable beach Bavaro resorts have those
Just FYI. Salt water pools are still chlorinated. The way the chlorine is introduced into the water is simply different. So your statement about being sensitive to chlorine pools makes no sense.
I am currently at the resort and watched this video before coming here. Resort grounds are very nice. Food is not very good, maybe 5/10 tops. The disclaimer 'I am not a foodie' is a big call out in this video, complete loss of credibility unless you just care about sustenance. The food is borderline at best and if you like good food, you should not come here. The breakfast buffet is honestly worse than Denny's. The restaurants are not always open and the resort app is not accurate relative to what's open and the activities. It's a 5 star property run like a 3 star property. It's fixable but not well run. If you get a good deal or using Bonvoy points, its definitely worth coming, if you are paying peak prices not a chance.
We definitely did not have the same experience!! But food is definitely hard to rate because everyone’s standards are so different! Sorry you’re not having a nice time!

Sorry to say that you hides a truth about the beach, i have been twice in this Resorts, i really love it except the beach it is really full of rocks very dangerous and not safe to swim in this beach also the water is not crystal clear so i give 3/10 for the beach. So please be honest next time!
Really?? We loved it. We showed the footage from us swimming in it! The water was beautiful too. We are always super honest in every review but it’s based on our experience. Everyone has different opinions and experiences
It’s 30 minutes from downtown and it’s the most safe area it’s a gated community. You can only go in if you are staying there. I talk about it in the video!

Their drinks are most certainly heavily diluted. Just spent 5 days there and averaged 10-12 drinks per day and barely caught a buzz the entire time.

We stayed at Royalton Bavaro and it was nice but Sanctuary was nicer except the beach part. I didn’t mind the small beach there but the Bavaro beaches are better but can get seaweed. It was def quiet at night. But they said the weekends are better. We were there sun-wed

Thanks for watching! Majestic Mirage had a great buffet! That’s the only other one. Sanctuary had everything that you would want just smaller!
Their drinks are most certainly heavily diluted. Just spent 5 days there and averaged 10-12 drinks per day and barely caught a buzz the entire time.

You mention riding a golf cart a few times...does this mean the layout of the resort isn't very walkable and very spread out? I typically like a layout such as Excellence Playa Mujeres where there's so much to choose from in amenities but all very convenient to walk to. Thanks!
The castle part is a little bit away from everything but still walkable

So just so I’m clear. The sanctuary town restaurants are included just not the Mexican one? Do they serve alcohol? Also can you ask the butler for full bottles of wine in the room?
Yes! The one restaurant is not included. Not all of them were open every night. I believe we got our drinks from the bar and brought them down. But I could be wrong. And yes our butler brought me Vodka

Hi, I have a question about the beach. Someone wrote online that if you walk past the castle suites you can reach Juanillo beach, which is a long beach to walk on. That’s really the only issue I have with this resort, the short beach. Did you find that you could keep walking along the beach if you wanted to?
Yes but I think you still have to go around a path or something. It’s not a typical stretch of beach for sure.

I wouldn’t go back to Le Blanc. It was too boring. Def will go back here and Excellence Playa Mujeres once it’s renovated. We will be staying at the Sun Palace for our 3rd time but mostly because we have a membership benefits we need to use up. It’s very nice just not enough seating around the pool sometimes. So hard to pick just one 🤣

It’s cheap from Vivitar And does the job but not sure it’s the greatest. I couldn’t bear to pay $80 for one ha ha. I found it a little clumsy at times but it could have been me too 😂amzn.to/3KUiONE.

That’s so exciting. Here’s a video I did on tipping. Usually $1-2 per visit to the bar and buffets $3-5 at night. Butlers you should tip more. I did a whole separate one on that too:).

Wouldn’t the ice the butler brings be made from the tap water? Also, doesn’t the coffee maker boil the water to make it safe?
No they use filter water to make ice. They know better. I would only use bottle water for coffee.

I booked with them months ago. It said book now and pay later. I been waiting for them to charge me. I leave June 22. I feel like my trip isn’t complete until it’s paid for. I called the resort they couldn’t give me a date that they will take the money😖 I’m worried because I used my debit card and lifted the amount that I can have charged for 72 hours and scared they will not do it within in the next 3 days.
Usually when they book it will send you an email and tell you the exact date or how many weeks ahead of time! I just checked my email and it’s says by 30 days ahead of time.

Yes they offer alternatives but not the best I’ve seen! You will have to go with the already gluten free items like eggs, meats etc tortillas but they could be crossed contaminated

Thanks for watching! MM may have a few better food options and again the beautiful Bavaro Beach. But they don’t have the Sanctuary town which we liked. Sanctuary felt more like a honeymoon spot to me. Majestic is great but not as special feeling. Another cool thing about Sanctuary is that it is located in Cap Cana so there are some pretty exclusive resorts and restaurants that you could go to (not included of course) at the Eden Roc. But agin if you really love that long walkable beach Bavaro resorts have those
Just FYI. Salt water pools are still chlorinated. The way the chlorine is introduced into the water is simply different. So your statement about being sensitive to chlorine pools makes no sense.

I am currently at the resort and watched this video before coming here. Resort grounds are very nice. Food is not very good, maybe 5/10 tops. The disclaimer 'I am not a foodie' is a big call out in this video, complete loss of credibility unless you just care about sustenance. The food is borderline at best and if you like good food, you should not come here. The breakfast buffet is honestly worse than Denny's. The restaurants are not always open and the resort app is not accurate relative to what's open and the activities. It's a 5 star property run like a 3 star property. It's fixable but not well run. If you get a good deal or using Bonvoy points, its definitely worth coming, if you are paying peak prices not a chance.
We definitely did not have the same experience!! But food is definitely hard to rate because everyone’s standards are so different! Sorry you’re not having a nice time!

Sorry to say that you hides a truth about the beach, i have been twice in this Resorts, i really love it except the beach it is really full of rocks very dangerous and not safe to swim in this beach also the water is not crystal clear so i give 3/10 for the beach. So please be honest next time!

It’s 30 minutes from downtown and it’s the most safe area it’s a gated community. You can only go in if you are staying there. I talk about it in the video!
