In some cases, this edition's notes feel superior to those of the standard ESVSB simply because they tighten up the length of the annotations without removing any relevant information. The ESVSB can feel a bit wordy in places, as if it's trying to veer into the realm of one-volume commentary. The student edition is appropriately concise, so the text of Scripture never feels too overwhelmed by the notes.
I am considering the ESV study Bible and have considered getting the student version simply for the portability aspect. Do you think it has info that is still useful for an adult who is not new to study Bibles or Scripture? For me a smaller profile is a big plus. The personal adult size is still ok but a bit hefty. Thank you for showing the difference in thickness between student and adult versions.
While the ESV isn't my go-to translation, those portfolio covers are probably my favorite non leather covers. Wouldn't mind having one of these for when I don't want to tote around the full size study Bible.
Thank you for your review of the ESV Student Study Bible. The ESV Study Bible has been the favorite of mine for many years.

Great review, Tim!
Thanks, Tim! I always enjoy watching your videos!
Great review I have always wondered what the difference was between the regular ESV vs the students study bible
Glad the review was helpful!
Sis get this Bible too, you knows it’s in my cart 😅
Thanks for the review Tim.
I love this Bible. I don’t have the regular one, but I found this one on sale one day for $17.99 in the teal color and couldn’t pass it up.
I would love to see it in person to see whether the font would work for me, especially on the notes. Probably too small. Alas!
I'm looking for a study bible that I can carry around without being too bulky. This one might fit the bill.
