Battlefield Line Days Out With Thomas. 6th June 2009

- This is another Thomas the Tank Engine outing with the Soar Valley Model Railway Club but this time to the Battlefield Line at Shackerstone. It's surprising that although I live not that far away from the Battlefield Line, I have only been there once before this! Unfortunately it's not within Cycling distance so going there quite regularly is not possible. And I mean Cycling distance by being able to carry my Camera equipment on my back with me! Anyway it was an exceptional event and I even got a cab ride in a Class 25!
The Locos running were:
-'Jinty' No.1 Thomas
-Aveling & Porter 'Blue Circle'
-LNER B1 No.1306 'Mayflower' (who was immaculate!)
-Class 25 No.D5217
-Class 116 DMBS 51131 & Class 118 DMS 51321
I’ve been to a lot of Day Out With Thomas events at steam railways in the UK, at the East Lancashire Railway, the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway and the Kirklees Light Railway.
The engine does look good but I have to say I prefer this sort of Thomas Weekend! Thanks for the comment!

really, the only reason why I go is because of my Club who takes a Thomas layout for the kids to play on, but I thoroughly enjoy it when I'm there! I probably still would go though! Cheers for the comment!

6:41 Fergus is my fave, I have a mate called Fergus lol, We were out for the day when we saw Thomas was at some railway and we had a ride on Fergus, Daisy, Thomas and Diesel lol we also saw Henry, Percy and Spencer

Yes I know, we're taking the interactive Thomas layout again but I'm not sure it's a definate. It might be off if we can't get any people to run it. It's the GCR's Steam Railway Gala on the 10th/11th and I'm off on holiday to yorkshire (with the NYMR anad NRM) on the next Saturday so I might not be able to make it.
Class 108 DMU? Be nice if we did have one, but its a hydrid unit. Class 116 DMBS 51131, and Class 118 DMS 51321. You should try and get over again, we're always after new victims/volunteers.
There is a small possibility I'll be operating our Club's Thomas layout in the main booking office on Sunday. It's just that is the GCR WWII Event the same day and I'd like to be there for the Spitfire & Hurricane flypast. But I'll see what I can do!
There isn't an actually an actual Thomas but a few of them but yes, I have been to the Nene Valley Railway. It 's nice, must have changed a bit since I went a few years back!
That Thomas scared me so bad when I was young it looked like he was deathstairing at me

Nice vid this is. 5*. We've got Thomas again on the 10th/11th October and the 17th/18th/19th October. It should be sort of the same line up except Thomas will be played by "Jessie" from Llangollen, not the Jinty. cheers

You see- I'm better at Steam and early Diesel! So does that particular unit consist of a Class 116 and a class 118?
I think what you're referring to is the Class 25 racing with Thomas, which is disgused as 'Boco'. The blue 2 car diesel multiple unit is masquerading as 'Daisy'. And this isn't the island of sodor.. it's the Battlefield Line in Leicestershire. :L

my almost 2 yr old was freaking out he loved it so much..were is this location tha it was filmed i would lve to find a place were he could pysically see thomas or even a ride it would be worth the travel just to see his face though i would have to hold his hand extrmely tight cause i know h would go running for thomas and his freinds.
