These are some great suggestions. I'm new to tufting and this is a huge help. I have some experience with the Walmart brand yarn because I crochet. The only drawback is that it's a high possibility that the skein will have some knots in them from where they join the yarn together. I love the Red Heart yarn. It good quality and is always a great price.
Yes please😊😁 do a video tufting with the thicker yarn.... I would love to see how that comes out and your experience with that thickness of yarn and whatever cloth that works best please and thank you ❤️🙂
Glad you posted this! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I'll have to go out and check yarn prices near me. The Walmart near me has a very sad yarn selection, so I'll have to check out what they got online.
I'm not 100% sure if headliner spray adhesive is the same as the spray adhesive for tufting, but it looks identical and has the same spiderweb spray pattern. They usually always have it in stock at most auto parts stores, might be worth checking out. Awesome vid btw, thanks for doing the leg work!
thank you! so helpful! I use the KRD-1 (cut & loop pile gun) and I am having some trouble. I am using primary tufting cloth & acrylic yarn! It works but the tufts seem to be a little looser than I’d like. I think I’ll try out some burlap instead of the primary tufting cloth and see how that goes. Thank you!
@@TugsRugs I havent yet! I ordered a new primary tufting cloth from a different company to try it out one more time with a different supplier! I’ll let you know once I do!
@@TugsRugs yes, I did a Mario bomb but kept getting holes in my material, when tufting. But I feel I need to find a way or tool to get a better and tighter grip! Any suggestions?? Also I didn't realize my tufting gun was at light speed 🤦🏾♂️ Learning curve right! 🤷🏾♂️
Oh my such big stores💜. I'm in a small town and our Walmart has a small selection of yarn. Besides ordering online to get yarn I have to drive an HR and a half to Hobby Lobby. They do have a Joann's and Michaels but it's a small selection.
@@TugsRugs yes it does so my family and I will stop at home Depot, pet store, or any other stops to make it worth our while to make that drive. I will also stock up too😂
I'm new to tufting. Would you be able to do a video on how to maintenance your AK gun? I don't know what's wrong with my gun but it keeps getting jammed/scissors are getting stuck in the out position...
Number of reasons. Burlap not tight, Need to retighten as you’re tufting, you could be using the gun with the black trigger which I’ve noticed is too powerful for burlap

Gotcha. I will for sure make a video on that
This was a fun journey dude!
Appreciate that

Primary cloth suppose to be the best cloth to use. Did you end up trying it on burlap yet?

Thank you so much for this video, it was extremely helpful ☺️
Welcome
I’m interesting trying tufting appreciate you sharing lot of information thanks
You’re very welcome
I got everything coming by the 14th except the tufting screen to hold the rug material. Gotta take that leap of faith🙏🏾
Definitely got to trust the process
You know where I could find iron on tags to add to the back of the rugs as a personal touch..? TIA
Got the list of what I need🔥👍🏾
finally got my tufting frame from a local wood shop store! about to throw my tacks on and running to buy the yarn
Did you start your tufting?

Thank you for this video! Very helpful! Have you tried tufting with different types of yarn?
I haven’t
Thank you for the video it was very helpful.
So happy you enjoyed
Lots of good info. However the video made me a bit car sick. One pointer. Don't chew gum while taping. It really gets amplified and is off putting.
Hello dear . You are doing an amazing job. But are you pushing the machine for work and embroidery, or is it moving forward on its own?
I push it and move the gun where I want it to be
Caron yarn is softer. I love it for crochet not sure if I’d use it for rugs.
Thanks u may have to check it out

@@kimberlyzickefoose3994 sheeeeesh that's crazy living in a small town like that. Just order everything. Amazon may get it to you faster. Lol
Where are you from? I am in SD and our prices in Walmart considerably more expensive! Even with this video being 2 years ago
I’m in Omaha Nebraska
Joanna's always on sale, and if it's not. They have coupons like crazy
Prices still do t beat Walmart
Thanks for the content !!
A friend of mine is in California, where can she buy the Tufting machine? Which shops or wholesale??
She can just order one amzn.to/3ShXbvP amzn.to/48tDdnu
Worried of duty😢
Walmart does have adhesive spray but it's in the hardware section.
I found some in another Walmart. It's usually the craft section by the glue
This was me last week doing the same thing.
As far as wool yarn I never used it so I was only doing the video on acrylic yarn
love the video. where do we buy the glue from?
I used to use the glue from Homedepot. I know buy a different kind from my local carpet store
Are you using the burlap to tuft and for backing?
Burlap just for tufting
Does the Walmart burlap work for tufting ? Do you use it often
Yes I only use Walmart burlap natural
Can yu use any staple gun to staple the burlap ?
As long as it can go through wood
Is it the color that you don't like or the tightness of the weave?
The darker one is like jute
The tightness of the weave is what I don't like. The lightest color is too loose and will make holes
I love your videos
Thank you very much
I'm new to tufting. Would you be able to do a video on how to maintenance your AK gun? I don't know what's wrong with my gun but it keeps getting jammed/scissors are getting stuck in the out position...
I suppose to collaborate with someone on how to maintenance tufting guns. But hit me up on Instagram tugs_rugs so I can show you the scissors part
Eii man can you put the link of Walmart for the burlap?
Search natural burlap
That expensive hobby lobby stuff might have been wool?
What's the best quality yarn you can use
Probably wool
How do you choose your colors
Whatever colors are in the design I try to find the closest color yarn
How big is your Fram you got ?
55"x55"
Hey, I have that same shirt 😁
Lol
Where is best place to get actual gun? Best prices I’ve seen Ali baba also FB market but scared to pull trigger and get one that doesn’t work correct
Links in the description of my RUclips videos to supplies I use
Why am I getting holes in my burlap when I tuft
Number of reasons. Burlap not tight, Need to retighten as you’re tufting, you could be using the gun with the black trigger which I’ve noticed is too powerful for burlap
I'm old and have been crocheting since (probably)before you were born. I desperately want to give you a yarn education.
I’m here to learn. If you have instagram hit me up tugs_rugs
