1956 was a great year for nice looking American cars,, Kaiser had the modern look five years earlier. 1957 to about 1964 , if you are a fin lover then Chrysler , Ford, GM and Rambler all had various size fins.! I liked most American car styles from 1949 to 1956. Never got impressed with the fin style , yet some of my friends think the years of fins were the best looking cars ever. I can not think of any car company that has tried to bring the fin style back !
Thanks for upload, but something is messed with ratio aspect and way of picture crop. In this point I prefer practice as in earlier videos. Anyway - as previous videos - this material is real treasure.
Wire wheels are popular option on Chrysler Products for the 1950s, including a 1956 Chrysler New Yorker Hemi-V-8, St. Regis DeLuxe, 2 door Newport hardtop, and some offered 3 tone paint job. Unlike the 1953-1955 the DeLuxe badges is not appeared on 1956 Chrysler New Yorker and V-8 Windsor, save on the dash which is the DeLuxe script is between the radio and the glove compartment, even on the new body style, 4 door Newport hardtop. Even 1956 Imperial Crown, 2 door Southampton hardtop with a Hemi-V-8 engine should have a DeLuxe badge on the dash (that's short for dashboard) which is located between the push button radio and the glove compartment.
Given the incredible Chrysler designs that would come in the mid-sixties into the early/mid seventies, these cars were hideous. And maybe it's because the film is washed out, but who would ever order diarrhea brown as a color option as seen in 7:09 min ?
There's always one cretin who fails to appreciative inovative and evolutionary classic automotive styling!!!😎😠😣👿 No doubt you probably think the modern American automobile's have classic design!!!🤔🙄😟😕😖😣
Due to the film’s faded colors, it does look brown, but is actually a deep red. The other colors are black and white. It was considered a trim option. You can see pictures of these cars if you search the internet for “1956 New Yorker St. Regis”.
Wow awesome memories! My grandfather had every other model year 300 starting with a B.
1956 was a great year for Chrysler. Very unusual rear window operation on the 4-door hardtops at 0:41
Sure made for a huge open window area with the windows down...just stunning.
THOSE 1956 CHRYSLERS WERE SOME DARN PRETTY NICE CARS. MY HOMIE HAD A BLACK ONE WITH A WHITE TOP & A HEMI. RAN LIKE A CHAMP 🏆🏁🥇
Lovely looking cars.
The rear power window function on the New Yorker 4-door hardtop is an interesting design.
LOL in many of the original shots, especially the still photos, the cars were stretched so far that the wheels no longer look round.
I love Chrysler C300 1955. Eternal car.
Francisco Granada --yes, too bad they didn’t include the 300s in their Promo Film...
Was your last automobile purchase cleaner, smarter, more powerstyle?
THE 56 CHRYSLERS WERE A HIT, THEY HIT IT OUT THE BALLPARK WITH THAT SLEEK LONG LOW BODYSTYLE

Three tone? Cool. Enjoyed the video.
Boy I'd like to have one of those new car's!!!!!!!!
The narrator sounds like the legendary Art Gilmore.
I didn't know they used the word *clean* in an automotive aesthetic context that long ago. Not sure why I assumed it was adopted much more recently.
Conscious Robot Joe Biden said that Obama was clean as a selling point for our needing to vote for him.
Art Gilmore at the mike?
