- Wuthering Waves is a new game that just came out and a lot of people have been comparing it to Genshin Impact. As a Genshin veteran, I want to see how similar they really are and also try to get my favorite character in the game Calcharo...without spending money.

I’m so used to genshin I call everything AR, waypoints, and more
I see more similarities to HSR if anything, the style, more advanced NPCS (WuWa does it better tho), the whole beginning, not really remembering who you are what your name is and more, AND THE CHESTS ARE SIMILAR TOOOOO
Sure, genshin was similar but the traveler remembered their sibling, what happened 500 years ago, things before that, and their own name
The only similarities I see with genshin is the grappling thingies, exploring land and not separate planets (as of right now), and for the love of everything, ANIMALS (I can’t remember if HSR had a lot of animals, since it was mainly space)
Oh and Nahida and Verina are ALMOST the same person (not hating or calling anything a copy, I’m saying they could be twins)
I recommend playing both games, as a genshin player going into WuWa, learning how to do stuff is really cool
What I’m looking forward to in the future is if they change the camera a lil bit, since they can’t make any faces or poses really
It’s just “default” or “continuously do an idle animation”
I really like it tho, I’m saving for Scar and Camellya. And I’m tryiiiiiing to get Verina too
damn dude... first of all, chest in genshin are very fantasy and here they're very much tech, so very very different, In wuwa we dont have a sibling to remember or any relevant story from the past, the grapling in genshin and wuwa are so different its not even comparable, in wuwa you can graple anywhere and anytime unlike genshin, and hsr has not a single animal because of the type of game it is

It didn't, it just didn't work for some people, for wuwa it's different, in order to play you need to be rich, even if you have a good PC it STILL lags even after the fixes😭

I can't even play the wuwa in my mobile and i dont have a good pc too so i am not playing it also i am not deleting genshin for wuwa so till i get good phone with good storage and can run both smooth i wont play wuwa lol

Except it isn't, for example the weapon banner has no 50/50, so you guarantee the weapon that is on display, also the beginner banner allow you to choose which character you wanted after pulling 50 times
Every. Single.modern. gacha has a similar or same banner setup even before genshin.

"Completely different game" is kind of an understatement. It's pretty much Genshin with different combat, lol.
Not really.. the world, combat, mechanics, traversal is all completely different the only thing that resembles genshin is the wishing and teleportation but that exist in ALMOST every open world gacha gamr

As a person who already played all the main story, it hurts me that he doesn’t know so much stuff. Just saying first ten pull on beginner banner got Verina. Encore in 20 pulls on the next banner, r1 Jiyan back to back. and his weapon 20 pulls. - I picked the female MC. Free to play magic. You can pick a standard banner five star now.

I don't think WuWa is a Genshin copy. I liked the game a lot actually. The battle mechanics are fire too. The reason it's similar to Genshin is because they both are the same genre. It's like saying that Genshin is copying Zelda. Referenced? Yeah. Similar? Yeah. But that is not copying.

my main server is SEA and the first 5star i got is lingyang he took all my bad luck at the start after him I got lucky got jiyan at 50pull and at 27pull got his main weapon after him I got mortefi to s3 and jiaxin to s2 and i just got virena at the 5star selector I cap played tell I got 6lvl60 character and 5star echo almost 100% the map only 4 places left now with nothing to do till lvl40 to 45 made another server in the same account to NA and the first 5star i got is calcharo LMAO he was the only 5star I haven't gotten on my main server got encore virena jianxin jiyan lingyang and all the 4 stars calcharo was the only one left

The genshin epidemic is real, its like you guys have never played any game before so you need to compare everything to genshin like a lunatic, lets get something straight genshin is by no means a founding father the game itself is a copy of another, its crazy to see how you react to the simplest thing and proceed to call it a genshin copy, like what?, form a person who has played wuwa for a whole 3-ish days straight (or well, all the time since it came out) let me enlighten your genshin a costumed brain(I apologize in advance for the essay)
- Gacha: Every gacha game its going to have the same or very similar gacha, some standard banner and currency for that, a limited banner and different currency for that one, and some sort of weapon banner, the pity can be the same, it can be different, what ever, you cant compare gachas because its the same everywhere, what you can do its compare pity systems, in wuwa its way more forgiving, Id advised that you look up how it works exactly.
-Exploration: Puzzles are different, chests are different, the world its so full, you see enemy's fight each other, npc's fighting monsters, there is allways something to do and something to find, so many different challenges, something that genshin doesn't offer, the world is alive, you might feel like its smaller, but the amount of things to do counters that, there is not an empty corner,
-Goes hand in hand with exploration, MOVEMENT: LITERALLY THE BEST MOVEMENT, and for a mobile gacha, about 15 or so movement options (anything that includes you moving around the world in general not including fights, ex. jumping, climbing I counted everything that's why I said in general, don't get confused) something that genshin doesn't offer, ill list it for you rigth now, and you can go check it yourself, if I missed anything remember I'm human too:
GENSHIN:

-Grappling(sumeru only and very limited- don't lie to yourself and tell me otherwise, also I have sumeru 100%, I would know)

-Climbing-Normal
-Climbing- Running up walls
-Climbing- dashing from side to side on walls
-Climbing- Flip when you get to a corner that is not climbable(you know you hate to get stuck on corners when you're climbing in genshin, well its not a problem anymore)
-Walking
-Backwards walking(its a movement option that happens when you're camera its focused on a target, you're not fighting your just walking around the enemy so ill count it as a regular movement option)
-Running-(no stamina)
-Backwards run
-Dashing-(stamina)
-Jumping-(integrated double jump)
-Backflip
-Frontflip
-Vaulting
-Gliding
-Swimming
-Plunging
-Grappling(quite complete, you can do it in the city or anytime, has a cooldown but you cant do much about that)
-Ecos(there's an eco right now called inferno rider, when you turn into the eco you can ride around in its bike, there's also birds you can fly around with, considering more enemies will always be added we can assume new movement option will be available, can also be used anywhere not just in one region and has a cooldown)
I could be missing some stuff on wuwa because its sooo much but that's the most relevant for now
Ill end it with this, BATTLE: Quite complex, a breath of fresh air from the gensing "spam 3 buttons and win", Can be confusing but none of yall were born knowing everything, you can learn, Let me give u a cute little list tehe:

-2nd Skill(Its something with a bar you have above your hp, your character does their skill differently depending on how full it is, Not sure if every character but it is a thing)
-Plunge Skill(yes you can use your skill as a plunge attack for most characters-specifically sword and goblet /like the hand things/ characters )
-Air attack( I'm pretty sure almost every character can lift you and attack you in the air, mostly catalyst and gun characters, also some sword characters, I could be mistaken and you can disregard this one)
-Intro Skill
-Ult
-Parry
-Dodge
-Combos(this one its fascinating to me, depending on the order you attack the character can do different things, like if you use your skill at a certain time it does something, and if you use your basic attack after then it does something different, and its particular to every character and their weapons class)
Ill end with this, there its nothing wrong with inspiration, taking something a game has done and improving on it, what's wrong its criticizing a game for copying(which is not necessarily true and can be proved wrong) when your game has done the same, wuwa and genshin can co-exist, you can compare items to familiarize yourself with the game and its concepts, but, always remember that genshin didn't do it first.
PS. If you find some weird wording English is not my first language so I apologize.
I wanted to say that the criteria I used for some of the movement and the fighting for wuwa is the following:
If I can be used at anytime by all or most characters, it counts as a movement or fighting option (dodging, Eco, grappling, plunge, air skill, etc)

WuWa is still a little clunky. How do you exit the game without the need to sign back in on Windows? Alt-F4 works, it's like closing the game in mobile, but is there a more proper way of doing it?
