I wanted to say a couple things about this vid because it does involve a living, breathing fishy 🐟:
1. I cycled my tank before ever adding the fish, that’s very important to do.
1. The tank size is 6 gallons, online it suggests anything from 1/4th gallon to 10 gallons. From what I know & from what I’ve researched a Betta fish can happily live in a 6 gallon tank.
2. I did make some changes after the video, I took the big skull out & added a lot more living plants and a tunnel just for optimal happiness.
3. The type of gorilla glue I used for the actual tank pieces is commonly used in the aquarium hobby. I did research and it is safe as long as you let it completely dry before adding it to the tank, which ofcourse I did.
4. From what I’ve researched Lego is perfectly safe to add to a fish tank as long as it’s washed beforehand.
5. I mentioned I bought a ton of stuff for my fish, I didn’t show myself using all of it. I showed the dechlorinator, the conditioner, the light, the heater, etc- I do have all those things, they are all being used.
I’ve had my fish for a couple weeks now and he looks very happy. I’ve had a ton of pets in the past, including multiple betta fish and other types of fish and other aquatic animals. I love all animals and obviously I want my Betta fish to have the best life he possibly can. Please do your own research before getting any pet and please don’t try to recreate anything I do in case I did it wrong. I really tried to get things right this time for my little buddy.
As a Betta fish lover I can say that it sounds like you did a good job setting it up! My only suggestion on what you could improve is getting a variety of food for him. Brine shrimp is a favorite for most Betta's. They like having a variety of food instead of just pellets all the time. Also they like it if you play with their food. Like use prongs and tap the water a bit before letting them eat it to simulate hunting bugs. Also they will learn tricks for food. You could do a video on it if you want. I taught a past Betta how to swim thru a hoop, come when called (tapping the water surface to make them come over), and some people teach them to jump. I will say you might want to get a lid or at least put suran wrap over the top. Otherwise your Betta might try jumping out. It's just a natural instinct so he might try.
Hopefully he won't. Also getting some Indian almond leaf/cattapa leaves are good for Bettas. You can even add extract to the tank. It can make the water look yellowish, but that's fine and it's clean. It's a blackwater tank look and they like it. That's optional but might be a good idea to have some if he ever looks sick.

As an aquarium hobbyist and mother of bettas, I really appreciate you adding this disclaimer/info. It's refreshing to see a RUclipsr doing something fun and novel like this WITHOUT dooming a fish to a short and horrible life. Congrats on the new pet, bettas are the best little dudes :)

Hi. German here. In my local dialect we have the word „Furzknoten“. Translated literally it‘s basically „fart-knot“ and that‘s what we call feisty children. I thought it would fit right in with your cats‘ names.

No. Instead of flex seal you need to use a type of silicon that is INERT after curing (meaning won't leach chemicals into the water and kill your fish).
I think it's type 2 in my area. You use it in a caulk gun. Friend of mine made a lego fish tank with it and some aquariam walls from a broken tank. ❤
Also please mix up your beta's diet. Blood worms and large brine shrimps are great ^_^

If you watch the whole video he ends up buying a normal tank and ditching the flex seal because he was worried it would contaminate the water. I own a betta fish myself and he's doing a great job and clearly did his research.

It's a nice Fish that might need some (non-territorial) friends. And it was a good idea to change some of the accessoirs to a more natual look with real plants etc...
My suggestion of a German Fish name would be "Bissmark" which is related to Bismarck (a German Polititian from the 19th Century which had a preference for eating sour herring) and in my written version could be translated to "bite mark". Something that your Cats would like to do with this poor little guy.
For a funny name I suggest "Backfisch" thats ... well ... like a giant fisch-stick but big enough to put into a whole sandwich (what we do in Germany with bread rolls and Backfisch lol)

I have a Betts fish too, they are cute, small, colorful, and silly. Mine doesn't have the largest cage though, and yet it strives with one plant and a snail friend to make the fish less lonely. The fishes name is Sega, and the snail's is Moon.
You can make a sealed lego fish tank, there are a few videos on youtube, just need to melt the lego together blow torch style, I am going to give a go!

The type of gorilla glue I used for the fish tank is pretty commonly used in aquariums as long as you let it dry before adding it to the tank, which I did. I did read up on it before using it. I wouldn't harm my fish, I love him too much for that.

Edit: I was quite tired when I made that comment so that's kinda my bad ;-; I should of added more context lol. Also btw idk if you are aware but Legos get dirty quickly when they are in tanks! So if you plan on cleaning them make sure you clean them good so your fish doesn't get sick^^
