His momma is out that money. I personally wouldn't risk my mother's money. I'd personally stay in jail and let the system foot the cost to get me to that state. As shitty as jail is, 2 weeks is nothing. $7500 works out to $536/day at 2 weeks.
In an interview he did, he said he was willing to take a 50% pay cut to be a judge and protect his community/help people who need it. He indeed has a level of compassion that many judges lack.
At least this judge actually put effort into conversating with the mother to her options freely when he never had to as a judge. He gave "Free Advice" that should be taken with great intentions if she loved her son enough to show up to court initially.

Yup.. I've sat in jail and yeah it sucks but time served and not wasting bail money .. I get wanting to be out but you play with fire you're gonna get burned .. luckily this was almost 10 years ago and I work full time and take care of my aging mother .. you can turn it around if you want.

The one on the right got out and got killed the next day trying to rob someone for a pizza and whatever they had in their pockets. Victim pushed his gun out of the way and was able to pull their own firearm. There is video of this judge telling the guy on the left.
I hate to see two young black men committing crimes and feeding into the stereotype while also destroying their future. As it is, they are damn lucky to still be alive, especially after robbing someone at an ATM. Mom could be planning a funeral instead of showing up to court to further enable her son. Both of them desperately need tough love and to be set straight before they literally lose their lives while committing crimes or to the criminal justice system.

When Judge Boyd sips water, it is about to get real. I have so much respect for all these judges, especially Judge Boyd. She tries so hard to give defendants individualized tools attached to their supervision to change their lives and their children’s quality of life if they are parents for the better while also protecting society. I would not want to make many of the decisions judges must make.
This is one of my favorite Judges to watch. Some clowns only focus on his commentary but NOT the meaning behind it. A LOT of young black kids need this; Single mothers do their best but they raise over-emotional kids in an environment where she is constantly stressed and depressed. That makes THEM angry at the world. A Strong Male Mentor can help channel that angst into something positive via discipline, accountability, responsibility and serving their community.
The fact that this judge just gave the defendants and the mom $250 to $500 in legal help..... Wow! There's very few judges these days that would do that. Much respect.
Their respective mothers need to get term life insurance on them, in the largest amount they can afford. Life insurance benefits are tax exempt. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$..

This has to be one of the coolest judges ever. I still can't understand why people take his kindness for weakness. If I had ever been lucky enough to have to appear before him I would have done everything I could to keep him happy.

Fleischer is a fair judge. I agree with giving someone ONE chance (depending on the crime) I’m not some soft on crime person regardless I’m behind the blue wall of commiefornia… but everyone deserves a second chance if their honest and will actually use it… but like I said it must depend on what kind of crime was committed. If these boys are repeat offenders and are going state to state committing felonies then they need to think about things for 10 years in prison. I’m glad he wants to work with the mom and gave her solid advice. The defense attorney had his prison oranges on as well 😂
The lawyer tries to help poorer people. If I had to life again, I'd be a lawyer (or judge) helping poor, people who make desperate but dumb decisions that destroy their lives, and their families.

The only thing what's bother's me from that Judge " I've been experiencing these situations before in Court, and I don't want to continue showing no mercy" I understand He's trying to help these criminals to get their acts together in order to make the public safe. This kid is digging his own hole he wants to keep talking instead of allowing his attorney to talk for him. He's adding to his case. He's giving them information they didn't even have. They say you have the right to silent what you say will be used against you.

He's the perfect blend of vicious, compassionate, and a true care and love for the community's safety. You have to respect this man. He's earned it.
