I completely agree with the community and therapeutic aspect of getting your hair done. We sometimes don't even think about it because we have gotten so accustomed to doing our own hair. This is what I'm looking forward to the most when I get my sister's locs. I want to feel taken care of and pampered.
Your locks are inspirational! I'm sure you have answered this in a previous video but I have 3 questions: 1.)How many locks do you have? 2.)What are the best tips and techniques your loctician has shared with you? 3.)What does your husband think of your locks?
Thank you for the compliment… 💖 1.) I have about 550 locs. I’ve counted only twice in 5 years and came to two different number 560 and 550… So I say 550 cause it’s a rounder number. 2.) Mostly in the beginning, her tips to preserve the locs as they are forming were very useful, like braiding and banding, and not using too many moisturizing products in the beginning to prevent slippage and build. I think those were useful. 3.) We tease each other a lot, but my husband loves my locs. Actually, he doesn’t care about it much, he just wants me to be happy. I know it doesn’t bother him because he doesn’t complain. He loved my natural hair, my relaxed and everything I’ve done. I tease him with it all the time... flip it on his face and things like that. 😂 I couldn’t do that when my hair was shorter.
So glad i caught your video. Do you have circumstances where random people will want to touch your hair? Have you lost a loc in the last couple of years? Any lint issues?
People ask to touch my hair, yes, but it is rare… I never had anyone touch it without asking (I don’t think 🤔)… I’ve have a couple slip out and just one break off in 5 years. As for lint… yes that’s a real thing, but it’s not enough to make my locs ugly. I remove the ones I see that are pickable with my nails or tweezers (rarely). I have gray hair coming in and somehow they make it down the shaft of my locs. Some of the white I see on my locs are grays so I leave my hair alone for the most part.
I so love ur hair. I watched and commented on one of ur old videos. Question was. Do u feel it is difficult for a person with sisterlocks to get EEGS done? Thanks
@AnnyKeyz ur welcome and an EEG is a neurological procedure done. Like for ppl with epilepsy, they get those sticky things put in their heads for testing. Hope I explained it well lol 🤦🏾♀️ and thanks for ur response.
Thank you for the compliment! 💖 Omg! I’m not sure… I think it was a steady growth overall. Maybe 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch per month steadily. My loctician has commented that my hair seems to grow faster in the summer. I would have to look and see…
