    Ok it's time I came clean and admitted this video is sponsored byyyyyyyyyy, COFFEE. Yes Matt is sponsored by coffee and or beer. All kidding aside I just saw this Matt and once again thank you for your feedback. This line has been very challenging for me and we went through numerous scent tweaks and hold levels. I designed this from a stylist point of view as needing a product to support the blow dry process and to help lock in the style. This is great for men AND women as I use it on every female client also. Thanks again Matt!!!

    I tried this and the hard hold one, can't remember the name exactly but it can go in dry, styled hair too. They both are amazing. Before blow drying, I use the 25 first then the one you have in your hand and WOW. Body, bounce, shine. Really nice. Went beyond my expectation. My hair is bottom of my back. I don't color treat. I don't flat iron. Don't need to.

    Awesome review, Matt. I'm curious though, to add Dynamite Clay as my post-styler (which needs some additional hold from a pre-styler), would you say the hold on this one is enough, or I've got to get a stronger one? And comparing this to Hans De Fuko Scheme Cream, which one had the highest hold as a pre-styler?

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  4 года назад

      I definitely prefer this over scheme cream 100%, but the hold is light so it just creates a base for your style. I’m not a fan of super holding prestylers as they tend to be overwhelming for my hair and hard to deal with (sticky etc). In my opinion though, depending on your hair length, this as a prestyler should be plenty to give the additional hold/support that you’re after.

  • @swing6670

    I have an apparently ungoogleable question haha. I’ve been using an olaplex blow dry cream, and I thought that’s al I need. My hair has been feeling more damaged.. should I also be adding heat protectant? Or not? If I’m ironing my hair? Or just blow drying? Is mixing products bad? Help!

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  Год назад

      Hey there Natalija! Hmm, is that the Olaplex no. 6 bond smoother that you’re using? If so, that seems more like a leave-in conditioner and wouldn’t necessarily have the same effect as a blow dry cream or something designed to help with heat styling.
      It is definitely okay to mix and layer products! I do this basically every time I style my hair - you can mix and match based on what you’re looking to do.
      Also is your hair processed/colored? Let me know and I can help to give some tailored recommendations :) But in general, I’d say you could definitely layer an additional product on top of the Olaplex before using your heated tools. Heat protectants can be good if you’re using a very hot iron. Otherwise maybe adding something like a smoothing serum (xmondo Viper oil is incredible) might do the trick for you!

    What is your favorite clay product? I have coarse wavy thick hair, and really like the foundation you get from crafted blow dry dream. I have been trying several clay products(Baxter,shehvoo,bluuman,Redken,Vilain), and i currently use hanz de fuko claymation, which i find to be mediocre for me atleast. Im willing to keep searching, as i believe there is a product out there that might do better. The hold is probably my biggest concern, as there is nothing worse, than to be constantly worried throuhgout the day, lets say if its just a little windy outside.

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  4 года назад

      That's a tough question! There are a lot of clays that I really enjoy for various different holds/styles.. but I think some of my favorites for stronger hold are Oasis from Templeton tonics, Stickmore clay fiber (this one feels, consistency-wise, closer to the Claymation type), and Clutch from TheSalonGuy.

    $3.30 an ounce really! With the amount of scents in this product I could see this being an absolute itchy nightmare. I know these artisian guys are trying but there is a product for everything, its just too much. I wonder if tossing all these products are really all that good for the hair.

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  4 года назад +4

      All the things I listed are just fragrance notes - that doesn’t mean there is a separate ingredient for each one. Home brew fragrances are typically done in an oil blend and only a few drops per bottle of product. It’s not like you’re putting a straight perfume in your hair. I’ve never had a problem with an itchy scalp.

    So would you reccomend this to help combat dry, frizzy, hair with flyaways? I too have course hair but its very curly out the shower and I essentially have to blow dry it straight to the best if my abilities.
    The problem is after all is said and done it comes out mostly straight but pretty damn frizzy with many flyaways to boot, and its rather embarrassing :(. I just have no idea what to do :/.
    Any suggestions?

      Love how much you’re into dem scents tho, it’s such an important part of a product. Btw, in case you might know of a product for me; I have super straight medium length fine hair, without products it just completely flops down. I’m looking for that unicorn product of good hold throughout the day with texture, natural or low shine (can also be matte but not rope matte) and ideally can be touched without it losing its hold or turning greasy on me. At the moment I’m using Stickmore boost tonic and styling cream which works great, the cream is just a bit dry and tuggy tho. Was thinking of wax cream or Moroccanoil perhaps? Cheers and thanks again!

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  4 года назад +1

      I'd suggest giving the CRAFTED matte paste or Oasis Clay from Templeton Tonics a try - they are similar in that both are liquidy products but with a super strong hold. I think Crafted ends up being lighter in the hair and Oasis is definitely stickier at application, but both end up feeling soft in the hair without getting greasy, give great texture, are restyleable and have a matte finish that isn't too dry looking.

      I have never had a problem with my hair product clashing with my cologne. Hair product scents in my experience thus far all tend to fade after styling, or if they do stick around, only you can occasionally catch a little whiff. It's not like they present like a cologne and people who walk past you on the street will smell it - that's just not the case. And the whole "if you want a scent, use a shampoo" thing doesn't really make sense to me, but okay lol. But yeah, I also respect that some people prefer unscented products. But, dat ain't me.

    • @sonnyhuynh007
      @sonnyhuynh007 4 года назад

      In other words scents in hair product are not important. Shampoo is basically soap, it job is to keep you fresh and clean and get you ready for a good fragrance. If you don't wear fragrances then ok...then i understand. But pick one not both unless they are compatible.
