I am praying that I can get this doctor to help my daughter. She's 23 and she's got a perforated septum from picking. There's no local doctors here in Chicago that know what they're doing. We've been searching for over a year now in her nose is collapsing and swaying side to side when she sleeps it's horrible. Painful and scary. . The surgeries that they are suggesting are not going to be long lasting or successful I feel. Do not feel any of the doctors here in Chicago have enough experience to make this successful in long-lasting for her life as much as what I've read in saw about this doctor. We'll be contacting the office next week. I pray that this works out. She has a surgery scheduled with another doctor here. I don't feel it's the right surgery and I don't feel he's experienced enough and I'm very scared. . It's nothing like this type of surgery. I'm worried that it's just going to create more lifelong problems down the road. I need this done once and for all for my daughter.
I find this absolutely fascinating, however I wish there was explanation of the procedure instead of music. Thank you for sharing your videos. I will continue to watch.
I know if I ever had to have any kind of surgery involving my head neck region I most definitely would be begging for you guys! Thank you so much for all you guys do!
5:25 danm. From someone with a septal perforation from picking/infection that made me tear up. I hope to save enough $ to see Dr. Hamilton someday. I'm 30 and just am so scared it will collapse, I don't think I could handle that
I had to have a deviated septum repair surgery about 7 years ago. This was after a 3 year struggle with MRSA infection that I contracted from a patient. I am a registered nurse. Following the sx I immediately developed another infection in my sinuses and nose. Even though I had told the surgeon that because of being treated so many times with the abx levaquin it no longer was effective for me, he refused to prescribe anything but levaquin. I had to go to my PCP to get adequate treatment for the infection which was raging to the point that my PCP considered administering IV abx as an inpatient. When I followed up with the surgeon later he accused me of picking my nose too much because the septum is extremely thin to the point of being near perforating like this patient’s was. I was outraged that he made this accusation because I had been afraid of doing anything that might cause the infection to flare again. I certainly had not been picking my nose. The surgeon warned me to not do anything to the inside of my nose because there is no repair for a perforated septum. What he should have said was that he isn’t skilled enough to repair damage that he had caused. I was excited to come across this video and see that there are surgeons who can repair a perforated septum. I really enjoy watching these doctors.
I have a septal perforation caused by trauma from sinus surgeries (two) and I am completely unable to find a doctor to help me. I have pain, numbness and constant bleeding. She's lucky she found you. I'm very unsure why every plastic/reconstruction surgeon I call states that they do not perform the surgery. I am at my wits end, and as a singer this will probalby ruin my career. Thank you for this video. It gives me hope that maybe I can find somone to help me as well.
Nice story and outcome. I wish there was more detail on how Dr. Hamilton repaired the perforation. Did he need extra cartilage from a rib? Did he use a skin graft or was there enough skin inside the nose to close the perforation?
At the end he said that he used 4 layers of cartilage that I think he took from further up in the patients nose. I remember seeing him make some slices that resulted in a triple cut of tissue. I need to rewatch now and see if that is what he did. These doctors are so impressive.
How long is the healing time for this? I have a huge hole in my nose I want to get it checked cause I can’t breath and there is whistling when I breath
I had surgery in 2017 to correct a deviated septum and ended up with a gaping hole there. I didn't even know it could or should be repaired. Not knowing it was even an option, I have just lived with it the way it is. I don't seem to have any particular bad effects from it that I can tell. Occasional bloody noses but that is very very infrequent. Can anyone tell me WHY it should be repaired? I welcome thoughts and advice.
@@mossum yeah don’t do it unless you really need it,, how bing is yours? Mine is about 2.5cm long and 3cm tall,, and so far I’m getting better with symptoms
I have watched many of their videos and I think y’all are hands down the most wonderful group of physicians. Thank you and God bless you and your practice.
My 10 year grandson needs this same surgical repair. He’s an athlete you name he plays it. However showed him her story, and he knows his day is coming. It’s good to be great doctors, but to be great people too, makes everything beautifully better.
This is how all health practitioners should treat their patients. Absolutely awesome 💯💯💯
Dr. Hamilton is one of the best, i've heard nothing but good things about him!

When u have a posterior perforation.. Usually it didnt cause so much proplems
I have a perforation too
When the perforation happen in anterior part it will cause more proplems
So what do you think? Are you gonna have to have it fixed or not?
Nah. I don't think it's warranted at this point.
