  • Nick Saban addresses the media following Alabama's 34-24 loss to Texas
00:00 Saban says game was a test for the team; don't want to waste a failing
02:20 Saban said a lot of Texas’ five sacks came off four-man rushes, even one on a three-man pursuit, Saban said. “We didn’t effect him at all,” Saban said of Ewers
03:30 Saban said Jalen Milroe held onto the ball too long, at times. Said he considered benching him but the Tide’s quick strikes kept him in the game.
04:26 Saban said Alabama struggled to deal with Texas’ motion. “It’s a lot of technical stuff, but you can’t let someone get behind you in the secondary.”
05:19 Saban said Alabama’s snapping problems were “surprising.”
    06:44 More on Jalen's performance
08:08 Saban noted the Tide kept it competitive, but a lack of execution late and Texas’ “explosive plays” were the difference. “They took a lot of shots in the game and they made them. ... That’s how they play.”
09:26 Saban talked about Alabama’s inability to handle Texas’ hurry-up offense and how that led to big plays
10:04 Praises fans for great atmosphere; shares that it's a privilege to play at Alabama, in games like these, and to be a part of the program's storied traditions

I'm going to say this! I have been an Alabama fan for 50 years and I have seen the worst and the best at Alabama! This isn't the worst I have seen! Some of you fair-weather fans would not have made it in the 80s when we were just average! I stuck it out with Alabama in the good and bad and I will until the day I die!

I was at Alabama during the “bad years” 02-06. I was at the 5 OT loss to Tennessee when Clausen converted a 4th and 19.
I was at that loss to Minnesota in the Music City Bowl. I was at the “Honk if you sacked Brodie Croyle” game and a loss at home to Northern Illinois.
Those were bad times. We’ve had it really good since 08.
Season ain’t over SEC begins soon and if we play the way we should then we win out in conference we got a shot to win out in the playoffs. The window is smaller but it ain’t closed.

No doubt we got out played by a mile. Milroe looked like he learned nothing since last year. I think he will get benched and the next guy gets a shot he was blind reading defense and ran right into the pressure not away from it. Guy has talent in arm and feet but the gray matter has not improved at all bad decisions. from Int's to not seeing wide open guys down field to over throwing two wide open guys for TDs in mid pass game, has good deep ball but mid range stuff where more defenders are a rond he is so locked on our guy does not see the defender 2 yards away and gave 2 away by doing that. he does not see the field

I have huge respect for Bama, they scheduled this tough game with us early in the season which is risky. Sarkisian learned a lot from Saban and might not be with Texas if not for him. They need to stop babysitting him and let him cook. Just let him play HIS game like they did with Jalen. Couple of reads, if you don't see it....GO make a play with your legs. Keep a RB dump off for him in passing situations and just move the chains. Milroe's issue is that he has to learn to take what they give you. He looks for the big play too much. His midrange accuracy needs improvement as well. Some of that issue comes from his footwork though.

Alabama was in the game they just did not 1) play well on the offensive line 2) not enough pressure on the Texas qb including sacks or collapsing the pocket 3) the secondary did not hold up well - giving up almost 400 passing yards.... this was Shocking. ALABAMA HAS THE TALENT, COACHING and Experience. The question is does the team rally, focus and improve or struggle or cave in. I believe that Alabama will win the SEC West and play Georgia in the SEC Championship. If they win the SEC they will make the CFP.

Very disappointing to see 4 and 5 star players playing the way they have for the last 3 seasons. Every position group has talent, but they play average at best except for maybe the field goal kicker and the TE's. O-line is average at best, RB's can't pass block, WR's can't get open or catch the ball, QB can't read a defense, D-line can't get pressure, DB's get burned. This is just absolutely baffling to watch with a team that has this much highly recruited talent...

I honestly feel like once he (Milroe) gets settled and the offensive line get better and consistent which we have 2 starting freshman tackles and a new OC we will be fine on offense. defense did well until whatever package switch they did in the 4th qtr. Penalties gotta stop (14 points left off the board). Milroe did miss 2 potential TD throws (Another 14 points left off the board) that he would've made in rhythm, if the o-line was more consistent. He was getting hit all game. I've been a fan since the Shula days and we honestly lost this game all around. Defense couldn't even get us a turnover. We had 3 potential fumbles, and 2 potential picks that we missed from not being at the correct depth in coverage or right spot from ball awareness. We had bad play calls on both the Offense and Defense. Even at one point the defense were getting their calls late and players showed frustration because of it. It was an all-around lost. and if we play like this going forward we will end this season 8-4 or 9-3

After the 2nd interception, Milroe shouldve been sat. Yes the line was hot garbage. But you put someone who can make accurate throws in deep field. Milroe just chucks it out there and hope it gets to them. He can be really good for freeing up the run game and forcing the defense to run a spy, but you also have to consider 1 the run game doesnt matter with 10 minutes left. 2 milroe got pressured a couple times by not going through reads and running too early. He is not comfortable throwing. We have a pretty good run game. A great kicker to back us up. Good wide receivers. Switch out the qb according to your play style and fix the line. As far as the defense, they gave up in the second half. In the first half, they came up with a few good stops however, you need to be anticipating the tempo. You are taking entirely too long to set up and call a timeout if you need to rather than getting burned for a 44 yd touchdown cus youre uncomfortable. This game plays faster now with the clock rules. The transfer pool means you have similar talent. You have been in the league long enough for people to study why you lose. Take more control in your games the hesitation is killing me. Until these things happen Bama wont win another title.

    1. 3 years of poor O-Line Play.
    2. Alabama ran the ball on the right side like 80% of the time and struggled. The few times they ran up the middle and to the left they gnashed them:
    3. I don’t like OC. Playcalling was awful and he should be calling plays that play to Milroe’s strengths. Same problem as BoB.
    4. Alabama deserves a lot of penalties it’s gotten, but the past 2-3 years the amount of Penalties that Alabama is hit with vs their Opponent is starting to become very questionable.
There was 2 Penalties that cost Alabama 14 Points that were complete bullshit. Of the 10 Penalties there’s about 4, maybe 5 that were completely bogus.
Texas’s 3rd Fumble at the very least deserved a review in which the Refs didn’t even give a thought.
Any unbiased person that knows football can watch every penalty called vs Texas 2021, Tennessee 2022, and Texas 2023 and they will see enough evidence that start to make you ask questions.

Bro that's what I've been trying to explain to my family here. Secondary is inconsistent also. We really played like the team from last year

    • @Rageousss
      @Rageousss 9 месяцев назад

@@heedthetruthinc i honestly think Secondary played rather well with a few exceptions.
Defense is the only reason why we didn’t get blown out. They started giving up plays once the number of snaps started adding up causing them to be gassed and we don’t have the depth to rotate.
Playing DB is the hardest position in Football and if a QB has all day to throw the WR Will eventually get open. For whatever reason Alabama couldn’t get pressure no matter if they rushed 4, 5, or 6 which is insane considering Rice abused Texas’s O-Line last week.
Alabama had 0 sacks, 2 QB hurries, and only 2 TFL.
Texas had 5 sacks, 21 hurries, 13 hits and 10 TFL. They pressured Milroe on 71% of his dropbacks in which they only blitz 31% of snaps with the rest being a 3 or 4 man rushes.

I didn't have an issue with the playcalling...I think our O lline is and has been suspect since 2020. Our discipline has greatly decreased too since then.
This has to improve, NOW, if we want a chance at reaching the SEC championship, let alone the playoff.

Possibly the most athletically talented roster (Bama) that underachieved so dramatically. qb mistakes and DB penalties that negated 2 TDs were the difference in this game. Bama`s O and D coordinators get an F on this midterm!!!!!

I am an Ohio State fan and during the first half of this game I posted on X aka twitter the following. Milroe is a spitting image of Braxton Miller, can change the pace of the game with his feet. Can turn a broken play into a 20 yard run or even break away touchdown. Arm strength is there but passing is inconsistent, and reads are often slow. When Milroe is on the offense won't be stopped, but when he is inconsistent teams will always have a chance. I see it in him, and I lived it with Braxton. Great athletes that just require more development in the system and for the game.
