He made the biggest effort with her out of anyone. The scene where Diana is late and is pulling up, and Phillip is the only one outside waiting really happened. He wrote many letters to her after the divorce saying how stupid Charles was. Phillip was a class act, and did his best. I am a fan of the duke.
Phillips does have affectionate feelings towards Diana, not as lovers or cause her beauty & young age, but more like the same status they share...as an Outsider
How he loved his own daughter Anne. He treated Diana like his own daughter. Usually father in law really always appreciates his daughter in law because daughter in law always made his son happy.
Another thing that annoyed me about Charles was he never took the time to really get to know Diana: her jobs, her hobbies, her friends. Philip showed more interest in Diana’s job as a maid and teaching assistant the first time they met than his son ever did. He trusted her from the beginning and saw a kindred spirit. The only thing Charles cared about was sneaking around with his married mistress.
You'd have thought Charles would've got to know Diana on a personal level least as well the rest of us who never spent a second in her actual company as he did, and so had to divine everything through media coverage.
I read this comment and went to find, where this episode probably happened. The wedding was in 1981, this episode is probably in the fall 1980, James Potter died October 30 1981. It's almost right. But Lily and James were hidden in 1980 and nobody saw James in public. What if it is true? What if Prince Phillip really killed James and Voldemort killed only Lily?
I was absolutely shocked by this.If this is true, it contradicts all I ever heard about Diana's distaste for hunting and her refusual to allow her sons to participate in it.
She hunted a lot in her childhood as an aristocratic child, she continued that hobby until her last years. Idk what was the reason but she stopped hunting in her last years. Maybe she thought that William and Harry are children and should not participate in hunting and she should become an example to them by stopping herself from doing it.
Many will be shocked by this. But Diana was an aristocrat. She knew all about stalking. And admitted that her sons would be raised around it, because it was part of their heritage.
@@dan5297 Diana and charles 1st met at hunting and shooting party at Diana's family estate in 1977. At that time charles was Diana's eldest sister Sarah's boyfriend.
Millions of viewers around the world, especially admirers of Princess Diana, have been shaken by this terrible scene. We demand and have the right to know if this really happened.
I don’t believe this scene took place IRL. It’s just a scene that compares to the one between Prince Philip & George VI in S1. Also, to show how the stag represents Princess Diana.
Oh grow up, millions of people are not shaken by this scene. Just you and a handful of maybe a few dozen people. God forbid someone who never knew you doesn't fit the image of who you want them to be.
@@josephmelendez8370 Joseph- What a mean, horrible response. I am "grown up", and I have lived long enough to know that millions of people- not just a dozen or so- do NOT approve of deer hunting as a sport. If you support deer hunting, that is your business, but please do not personally attack those of us who despise this sort of activity.

You should go hunting. The feral hogs are so plentiful in Texas, we shoot them from helicopters. It’s really an amazing time. You should try it if you ever find yourself in Texas! ruclips.net/video/8ir6LDRH7J0/видео.html
You think, ok this person is making a reasonable statement, hunting for pleasure maybe not always great, even though it is ecologically necessary to hunt deer sometimes to preserve balance, but nevertheless, sometimes it's also not. But no, original commenter has to go the nutsy bye bye route.

Like Father and daughter
I think he thought it's his duty to take Diana under his wing because like him she was spouse of future monarch.
He was also close to his sisters so he wanted the family together

Not 'kindred;' spirit but ultimately she was a good person and feminine. Charles meanwhile wasnt masculine and didnt treat her right.
I find it quite fitting that in season 6 they have William do the exact same thing on the day Diana dies because it harkens back to this episode.
Wow. I can not believe that Prince Philip killed James Potter. RIP James Potter

Not my type of sport at all
Awful scene ... i hated. So barbarian...
I can't believe that this could have actually happened. I always heard that Diana hated hunting, especially killing deer.
Are you vegan? Then it's okay, you can criticise this.
But if you're a non vegan, it's a bit of a hypocritical comment.
“Barbaric,” the word you are looking for is “barbaric.”
Also, tasty.
Poor stag. I wouldn't have bother getting it. It was limping making it a pathetic prize.
