Yeah I’d buy a few truck loads of gravel for the worst spots. Too bad we couldn’t have Andrew Camarata barge all the shale he’s got on his mountain to Marty T….Now that would be a Collaboration!!! I’m not sure how far Marty T is from a port but that sure would be epic.!!!

I suppose the good thing about the neighbors who share the driveway not chipping in is that you can ignore them when they complain that you didn't do it to their liking. If they pay in, then you'll have a requirement list of just how they'd want it. You're a good man, Marty.

I can't imagine the satisfaction you get Marty. These machines were built for a purpose. You revived a old piece of equipment and put it back to work even if it's part time. That's like taking grandpa out of the nursing home for one last home project. If that machine was sentient you sure would have put a smile on its face to do an honest days work.

@@MartyT You should seriously have a talk with all of them over a few beers about making a co-fund that's purely for road maintenance (i'm unsure if it's exactly that way, but i heard there's funds that can be made specifically for certain purposes, and only the agreed needs allow the people tied to it to retrieve money). Kinda uncool in a way that it's all left up to you, we (9 families) agreed on ours that each two years an assessment is made and that regardless of any other things, a fund is made to deal with it. What sucks for us is we're not legally allowed to modify the road surface, we would've put a proper road surface by now...

I ended up putting a grader cutting edge on the back of my mini van and grading one road that the county hardly ever grades despite the high traffic on it.

I served my apprenticeship at Aveling-Barford in the early seventies when I guess that this grader was built. It's really heartwarming see this machine in working order and still doing a job 50 years later.
