I thoroughly enjoyed this video! Your outfit looks fantastic, and I love the fabric. I learned a few things as well. The best video to learn how to thread your serger is by Tock Custom titled How to thread a serger and overlock machine tutorial-Brother 1034D. Looking forward to future videos.
Thank you and yes, I’ve watched his How-To video a few times and saved it. It’s wonderful! Will definitely watch it again when I’m ready to start working with my serger ASAP.
Your outfit turned out great. Were you using the finish garment measurements with the first top? The second top looks wonderful. Happy Resurrection Day. ✝️
I love the fabric😍😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤. I never could find that fabric. Once you start with your serger you love it you’ll get addicted to it. My daughter gave me one for Christmas and I love it.. I love your blue jacket that you had on. Did you make it? thanks 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾for sharing. Have a wonderful and blessed day and be safe.
Thank you! Yes, I definitely need to start working on my serger. I gotta learn how to thread the blasted thing 😂 I didn’t make the jacket, I found it on Amazon. Happy Sewing!
I love how organized you are. I haven’t sewn garments in a while. I’m so happy you share you me timeframes cause sometimes I get frustrated I can’t finish things in a weekend. Lol
Girl, sometimes life just be “life-ing” 😂 I’m working on my patience and giving sewing makes more time nowadays. I already knew going into this project that the zippers and top was going to give me a run for my money 😂 But I love a good “easy” pattern for a weekend sew
Yep; a loop turner is good and makes things much easier. You could also pin a large safety pin at the end and thread it through. Instead of a shed, you should call it your sewing chalet!😀
I admire your perseverance! It paid off and you have a very cute set! When you are prepping your pattern, have you tried measuring the pieces to ensure they match with your measurements? That may help with more fitted garments in the future.
That's a great idea! I’ll get better about things like that. I think I’m going to start making a toile with my wovens moving forward, but I like your suggestion better.
You’re absolutely correct! I think this project made me want to make a toile or muslin now more than ever. I hate the idea of making something twice, but it might save on the frustration and avoid greater mistakes in the long run.
You did an amazing job!!!!!! Love your make and your fabric choice, it is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!!!!!! You did your thing. Thank you so much for sharing your make, this is one of my makes for the make 9 challenges too.
@@weceestyle You are very welcome😊❤❤!!! It was very helpful. Thank you so much for sharing, I joined make nine 2024 on March 29th. I am so excited to be participating!!!😊
Thank you for sharing this video as it is most helpful. I’m still sewing summer makes and I’m going to make this outfit. When you made the first top, did you base your size selection on your physical measurements or did you pick the size you normally sew? How did you determine which size to sell for your second top?
@D5.com23 For my first top, I sewed the size based on measurements physical measurements per the pattern. I sewed one size smaller for the second crop top based off the first one being too big.
Just the opposite, my skirt came out too big in the waist. When making the muslin it fit but in the final stage the skirt was too big. SOooo Instead of scrapping the garment I will rip the zipper, side seams and the waistband , scale down two inches and re-attach. Your pieces came out beautifully ❤. Love the fabric and I appreciate you sharing the bit about the top. Thanks for sharing😊
Thank you and thank you for watching! ❤️ I know you have a lot of work ahead of you to fix the skirt, but I hope it turns out wonderfully! Happy Sewing!
Thank you and thanks for watching! This is still a pattern I’m not sure I want to make again because of the fit of the top 🤷🏾♀️ I’m sure yours is beautiful ♥️
Hey J Sew Tastic here the top and the skirt turned out great. Thanks for sharing your mistakes. It helps me understand the process in case I try it. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The first top was ill-fitting beyond the bust, but now that you mention it, I’m thinking the underwire may aid in the bust on the second piece. I think it’s worth it to try. Thank you!
Sweety you can go to home depot and buy a 4x8 piece of 1/2 inch plywood cut it in half home depot will cut the wood for you. Id cut it long ways in half. Buy 3hinges n attach it to your table near the sewing machine. Attach it and lay it down n lift it up when you do cut outs. Just flip it up n makes you table perfect size . And u wont be braking your back on floor hope Grandma helped
It would help if you did the fitting first, and picked your size(top) with your upper bust measurements. A great resource is the book by Nancy Ziemqn Pattern Fitting with Confidence.
Amazing job! You look stunning! Fabric suits you 😍
Thank you so much!! 😊
Top looks good, only you will see the imperfections. All your non sewing friends will say it is fabulous
So true! Thank you! ❤️

I wonder if, had you used underwires the first fit might’ve been better. Loved your work.
