My standard morning coffee is instant coffee dissolved in cold milk. Leave for a few minutes and stir occasionally. Add a splash of cream. I usually make it the evening before and store it in the fridge overnight. The instant coffee does dissolve in cold milk, it just takes a little bit longer.
This is what im drinking now, i use half water since i drink soo much! Plus some chocolate syrup i can drink this all day i try to only have one or two 😂 solid food? 😮 whats that 😅

@@ElusiveTy I usually make it the day before, wasting no time. I don’t think it would be faster to boil the water, dissolve the coffee then add the milk in time I’m actually spending making the coffee.
@ElusiveTy add milk first and dissolve the coffee then add hot water, takes like 2 minutes of stirring to dissolve the coffee in cold milk but I make instant coffees every day and putting boiling water in first gives it more of a burnt taste, milk first is the way to go if you want an instant coffee to taste as good as it can.

Save your water bottle fill halfway with water freeze it. Add in an instant coffee stick or two, sweetener of choice & and water shake for one minute, then fill with creamer. Not fancy, but same as result.
Hmm, a protein shaker-type bottle or regular tumbler that you can reuse for this purpose is fine too - I understand that you want to make the washing up and process less of a hassle and simple, but if you want to do this frequently, you can still avoid unnecessary exposure to microplastics while reducing the number of unnecessary cleaning required from the video. But I like your way of thinking.
I think someone once told me cold water or room temp is better for at least a splash. Stir hard to start the instant coffee dissolving, then add the hot water. The cold water offsets the heat so you dont burn the granules, which is often what makes instant coffee taste awful
What I usually do is put the coffee in, put desired amount of sugar, cold milk, mix it very very thoroughly, then put a small amount of hot water, mix again thoroughly then add rest of hot water
I’m pretty convinced this is all placebo. My ex was convinced of this, I would make the coffee both ways and ask her whether I put cold milk in first or hot water. She never consistently got it right

Two tablespoons is an insane amount of sugar to add to a drink. If anybody is going to do this, keep in mind the daily recommended maximum is 30g of free sugar per day. Two tablespoons of sugar is roughly 24g.
Wow, thank you, @matthewwilcox7204. This has really put my diet into perspective. I have been adding 4 tablespoons to my weetabix every morning ❤

@matthewwilcox7204 I was thanking you for helping turn my life around and this was very hurtful
My mom made this when she was back in university 25 years ago but, of course, not as fancy. Glad to see people still drinking this :)
Same here. I'm from Argentina and this has existed forever. I'm 35 and remember making coffee this way for my parents when I was little.
@MiauMichigan I am 52 and I made it for granpa in the 70's in Rosario
I had no idea about any covid coffee or greek frappé. This short is the first i've ever heard of it. So thanks for posting this man, and reaching people like me who live comfortably under a rock. This totally changed my life for the better lol.
How, May I ask , has a coffee changed your life. I been drinking coffee for 50+yrs, I’m sure I qualify. ROFL looks good! And I never heard of this either. 😊
Same here. This is my first time seeing this
@@ohsuziq3916 to be fair, literally anything and everything changes your life.
Forreal lol
never knew there was a name for this. I've been making it for years. though sometimes I add maple syrup instead of sugar.
How is no one talking about the vanilla extract!? That stuff is potent! Bro needed like... A couple drops not a "Two shouts of vodka" levels 😭
Seriously. The vanilla extract part sent me for a spiral
To be fair it like like real vanilla extract which is not as concentrated
After seeing 2 tablespoons of sugar added nothing surprised me after
@@teedea89that's not insane given the amount of sugar in most commercial products

Omg!!! 😂😂🤣🤣🤣😂😅😅😅 that was the best intro!!! And conclusion!!!❤️💘 making it now
I tried this and it was soooo goood! Taste like lattes that I get in coffee shops. It was perfect! Not too bland, not too strong and not too sweet!
I don't care if anyone's going to look down on me for this, but this kind of makes me miss general foods international coffees! I think that was the brand. The Swiss coffee was my favorite! And I think the French vanilla too. Those got me through some long nights in college staying up for art projects and typing papers!
For this here, part of me would want to add in a couple of spoonfuls of hot cocoa powder mix and maybe even some cinnamon! 😋😋😋
They still have them. I buy them. I'm 40 and to me it's fancy. 😂😂😂
@@katharine2435 Ooh, really?! Sweet!
And yes! Definitely fancy! 😂🙌🤗
I totally forgot about the GF International coffee! It was in a rectangular metal tin, I think.
@@miriamofsanik981 Yes! And the commercials were so fun!
Omg they were amazing. I think they're still out.
😮 whats that 😅
But why not just pour the slightest bit of boiling water to melt it? Your method sounds like it would waste time. 20ml of water won't even be noticeable to matter.
Just made this I am fully convinced. Thank you!
Been drinking coffee without sugar for a while now and am so grateful, there is no need for it, working on using no milk or cream to really set myself up for better success.
I was at a summer camp and these kids have so much energy that I was always keeping an eye on them, I never had time to make a good cup of coffee. It was black or no coffee. I now drink black coffee. Some coffee tastes better with sugar but I like some coffee better black.
@@emrald9963 black coffee for the win!! I'd always crash out from the sugar after it wore off, can't do it anymore due to working night shift now, not trying to get fired for burning out and smacking the floor on the job 😆😆
Kids at camp nowadays certainly seem like they're dosed up on at least a pot of coffee a day I swear 😆 I can only imagine what it's like to work around them with all of that energy 😰

What's even the point of drinking coffee then? That's just bitter brown water
@@_Amarin pure coffee without sugar or cream/milk is actually better for you so don't knock it till you try it 🤷
As a greek person I have to tell you that you are in the right trajectory. You probably need a couple of dozen iterations and you might eventually discover how make decent cold instant coffee.
Frappe
How do you, as a greek person, make your coffee at home? The recipe he did is basically exactly what I leaned of as a "greek frappe". Aside from the more traditional 2:1 ratio of coffee to sugar.
@@Apollo_despairvanilla extract, salt etc are huge extras. We just use coffee, sugar to taste and fill with water, topping off milk if needed to taste.
That seemed way too sweet in my eyes, but I also drink frappe without sugar or milk.
@@IliasMWr I see, I also never use salt and vanilla. Though I fill my cup with milk rather than water since I find milk to be a better base than water.
tf youre acting so superior for lmao
Perfect example as to why I never ask for ice in my drinks whenever i’m out, went from being a shot of coffee to a full glass because of pure ice
I did this and it just gave the coffee a lil more flavor and kick. THE BEST!
I did this for probably two years straight, simple, easy, you can tune it to your taste, amazing.
What if we don’t add sugar will it froth up as well?
yep - i just made this and used agave syrup and it frothed up so much!! the main thing is to make sure you're using hot water :)

Man it's called frappe. We make that in Greece from the 1970s, 80s.
Last time I checked the Greeks didn't use milk in their version.
@@clothar23 of course they use, you just ask for it. In Greece you metnion how you want your coffee, frappe, fredo espresso, etc. So, when you order, you say with milk, or else it's without. Fan fact, in frappe they put concentrated milk only!
@@ottinannaithat’s super cool I didn’t know that!!
You guys use instant coffee at a coffee shop? I'm sorry
@@just_another_bot0110not for every coffee, but because frappe is so popular , a bunch of people want it when going out. It is usually a lot cheaper than other coffees but it is true that a lot of coffee shops abuse it and charge it like other coffees and that’s sad.
Im fully convinced that no one makes original content anymore and just reposts the trends everyone has already seen for months on end
this is pretty good! i used half the amount of sugar and coffee tho but very nice 👍
Wow, i am now also fully convinced that if you take 2 tablespoons of instant coffee, combine that with 2 more tablespoons of hot water and 2 tablespoons of sugar, a splash of vanilla extract, a pinch of salt, and then froth it together till it becomes one fluffy coffee concotion, add a little bit of ice, some of your favorite milk, before mixing it all together, that i will have learned the best way to make instant coffee.

He's going by Starbucks standards don't hate on him too hard 😂😂
I mean by the size of the glass and the amount of coffee i think its a good amount of ice, if not itll just be coffee flavored milk
@chihiro_0911 yea now instead you have water flavored coffee unless you chug the entire thing before the ice melts but there's only like 5oz of liquid so it shouldn't be to hard to finish
In America we use the bed of Ford F150 pick up trucks as units of measurement. Seemed like they could’ve used a bit more lmao
@@Deivesonfiggyssonsome of the ice will melt instantly, and a lot will melt when mixing.. the coffee is very strong (and hot) and is meant to be diluted.
That’s how Greeks been drinking coffee for 60 years now , it’s called frappe 🇬🇷🇬🇷
I'm convinced if you make an instant coffee and then throw it away and go get an espresso you just found the best way to have coffee
@@Freevo_Lowse that would do it, too! Definitely need to temper cold milk first, so a little bit of the hot water to start is perfect
I’m pretty convinced this is all placebo. My ex was convinced of this, I would make the coffee both ways and ask her whether I put cold milk in first or hot water. She never consistently got it right
Dissolving it in a bit of cold water definitely tastes way better.
Instant coffee is definitely under rated.
I put two scoops with a cup made by my crap K cup machine. Then a spoon full of instant espresso. Fill the rest with heated milk.
Good enough for me.

10g of sugar, the right way to diabetes 🤸
Funny how most of commenters like you freak out at 10 grams of sugar and then go straight up and eat a cheesecake or snickers
This recipe actually has 30g of sugar.
every once in a while this is alright. would add calories for a daily drink so maybe keep it to the weekends. it’s okay to eat sugar in moderation.
also saying that 10g of sugar would even remotely increase your chances of diabetes is just wrong. especially if you’re generally a healthy person
Sugar doesn't cause diabetes, saturated fat from animal products does. Our bodies and cells run on glucose, not fat or protein, but glucose. Sat fat blocks the cells ability to draw in glucose.
