I’m 15 and currently in a vocational school, and I’ve been doing electrical stuff since I was 10, since my dad is an electrician. Really hated it at first and didn’t even consider space for new opinions, until I became a freshman and I got in the electrical trade program, keep in mind I know hella shit because my dad forced me to go to jobs with him and see him and how he did his job, after orientation for the program I actually thought that this could be good and well, pretty good pay, and since I would have coaching both at home with my dad, and at the actual school, I could easily become a journeyman by the time I’m 20, (at least in my state) and that I could be making pretty good money for a 20 year old, my dad gives a lot of good tips and shit and he also guides me in shit but I gotta say you’re videos are fucking great, some of the stuff you cover isn’t covered in the theory room, like which tools to get or which tools to avoid, love the stuff you’re doing man, keep that shit up!
Don't think I've seen you do a review on crimping tools. Can you please do one, especially universal ones with interchangeable dies like the phoenix contact crimpfox muilti.
it's a good tip been using that for decades and sometimes use washers as shim, couple times I didn't have enough big washers I cut short pieces of metal conduit as spacer and push the lag bolt through and put a little on the conduit spacer to the lag bolt just to hold it in place for me to screw it onto the wall into the lag shield
Nice tip. That looks like a prime location to use kendorff as your stand-off and mount to that. Also washers are too expensive to use up like that we use cut off pieces of EMT. Your job looks like a neater and simpler way to do it but my boss would have a stroke.
What cause you got alot of scrap emt left over from the sawzall bending? Just joking, but washers are standard widths and most people can't cut 1/2" to 3/4" spacers over and over again.
@@josephlabranch6595 haha sounds like something my boss would say! The washers are the way to go, but my boss is one to tell you to use less couplings but then get mad when it takes too long to bend a 90- 2 4 point saddles and a box offset in a 10' stick and just tell you to cut it and use 5 couplings lol. And for the record we have an homemade jig to cut 1/2" EMT standoffs

Mike? Been a month. 😆 lots of want a review. Maybe Klein vs greenlee or ideal or preferences of other stuff like knipex when banging out a commercial job. Thanks for the videos, watched them all.
Use this method a lot, but in this case, couldn’t you cut a corresponding section out of the back of the trunking so it sits flat with the wall and lines up with the rest of the install?
Alot of times I've actually had to let it float and space it when mounting gutters, old buildings with concrete walls can some times be a bitch, if I tried to space it equal I would never get the mfer level. You do have a good idea though.
Just wondering if you still have Klein screwdrivers? If so can you tell us how old they are, what they look like now and how long Klein's normally last. As a UK dweller I wouldn't know.
I usually don't have that many washers on hand so I just take whatever's roughly the same thickness and use that (a bit of wood for example). But yes, roughly the same idea
This was a great tip! When I make spacers out of washers I use superglue because they will be seen. In construction your method would be much better and quicker.
I like to not tape the washers. Then try and slip them in behind and catch them with the screw. Then pick up the ones that fell. Then try to slip them in. Then try to screw them. Etc.
Start a series, "Just the Tip w/ Mikey"
yes!
Screw all that, just cut the wall down! 🤣 jk that’s a great idea bubba! Thanks for sharing 🤘
Keep the tips coming could always use some In the field tips. Maybe do some more electrical trade centered videos.
Good tip. I’ve also cut pieces of conduit to fill that gap. Typically 3/4” emt or rigid.
Awesome tip. I would love to see more in the field tips and such.
Gotta love when she mounts just a lil of the tip. Good lil how to for matching em up
This helps and also square unistrut washers!
Little mounting tip. When you mount up yell yehaw!
4/11 and 1900 box covers work great for spacers too! and to level a switch or gear when mounting it as well!
Merry christmas mike! Keep up the good work

I like it I usually try to find something the right width mouth it then my panel ,but I like this nice and clean one shot mounting.

Just found your channel today, already watched most of your videos lmao. I must say you make good content happily subscribed
I would have just put two pieces of shallow strut on the wall the lengths of the trough then mounted it using spring nuts.
Great Tip brother, very usefull.
Good tip Mike!

Just proves that Electrician’s get paid from the neck up
Yeah! You mount that !
Carry a small (8") piece of 3/8 pipe and chop off however many spacers you need. Your way is good in a jam.
Just wondering if you still have Klein screwdrivers? If so can you tell us how old they are, what they look like now and how long Klein's normally last. As a UK dweller I wouldn't know.
Notch out metal where gusset is? I do like the spacer idea though

I always take all of the tips I can when it comes to mounting, but how dare you assume it's little!

Mount the can and then stuff wire nuts behind it! 😂 Nah jk Mike! Great tip and vids
The snippets are back
Cut a few pieces of shallow strut

catsupdog kind of like a game of operation but you are getting paid to do it
220, 221...
Wouldn't it be easier to just clearance the trough by bending in the corner? Probably not, or I'm sure you'd be doing that lol
PEX
You gonna fill that gap with goo???
Hard Knocks Forge yup, gonna use 5 cans of fire caulk in it, just in case!
Do you fill in around your strut, maybe you have to cause it's so fuckin' crooked.
I need some of that duct tape to make a fifi. Hook me up and I'll let you in on the shit
Why nots instead of washer just a bolt so it's in a one piece
