Luke sounds like a fallen brainwashed angel from the star "Polaris" where he once worshiped. Trying so hard not to be in amazement of the RIOT.... he mumbles under his space helmet.... trying to subdue his admiration of the Cat..... trying so hard not to offend the Polaris Lords and lose sponsorshipness…. but in the end he struggles to oppress his true Love of the AC Riot..... If only he could be free to express his true feelings.... under his space lid.
Haha I was thinking the same thing... bout time this dude said he likes an arctic cat. The only reason I watched the full video was to see if he would admit how awesome the Riot is..
Lol right. I’m a Cat guy through and through as well, but No one makes the perfect sled, everybody likes what they like. Just keep the opinions unbiased.
Neat sled, just never have been a fan of all that damn green! Lol. Sure miss the old all black hood and belly pans with some "not to loud" graphics that had some purple orange and green thrown in there. But to each their own.....thanks for another cool walk around guys!
Trying real hard to sell the only sled Arctic Cat was pushing in 2019. When I rode the Riot in a demo I felt like I was riding 10 year old technology compared to the Polaris and Ski-doo's. They gotta step up there game.
I don't agree at all. My brother's switched from 2019 ski doo 850 and polaris assault 850 to a new Riot this year. Old tech what are you talking about? Runs with and beats other brands
@@thegoldenchild4657 Just giving my opinion on when I rode all of the brands this year at a demo. The other brands to me rode a lot better. Arctic Cat use to be at the top of the list for snowmobiles in the 90's and early 00's but to me they have fell off. When I rode the Riot it felt like I was riding a circa 2009 ski doo summit or a 2010 polaris RMK.
@@brucestewart78 I don't agree either, I've ridden them all and the cat rides better than most. Passing polarises and skidoos all day long on the trail.
@@thegoldenchild4657 I'm kinda in the same situation I've got an opportunity to upgrade my '17 ski doo 850 with a '20 Riot x i ride mainly trail though tug hill..
Haven't you noticed that Riot X is basically XF with a new rear end? And a new motor.. so I don't understand this "complete new model"-thing. Or what else have changed? I didn't notice anything else when comparing these in person..
Its a highcountry with a new skid. That new skid makes this sled make a lot more sense then the highcountry though. That only had a 141 with 2" paddles
Interesting take. Everyone has their own perspective, but I really do think AC needed to make the riot and riot x both with telescopic post, mid-stance skis, and 1.6 and 2+ track options. Obviously that takes away some differentiators between the models, but those options to me are important for any 146 crossovers.
Then they would be essentially the EXACT same sled. That makes no sense. The reason they are different is because they are targeted at different buyers. If were as impressed with them both, for completely different reasons... Id say arctic got this one very right.
@@pavmentsurfer13 I get the logic in your point; however, I'll admit I'm one of those strange people who want a lower displacement motor with the features big engine packages get. This is why I don't work in sales. Do I get the sales logic? yes. Do I agree with it? At least not until the reliability and fuel/oil economy gap is closed between 600s and 800s.
If my logic is, well logical, then it’s the surface of the track that pushes the snow that matters for a deep powder sled. And for the Riot X being just 146", i think it would be better with 2.4 inch lugs. And i know Luke said 2.25" but the AC website says 2" so I don’t know what is true. Hopefully 2.25" Don’t know if anybody agrees, but I’d say that a 0.5" increase in lug height helps more than a 10" longer track.
Funny u mentioned the rear shocks, so who copied who? Cat or Poo? Why does Poo use a Velocity shock on rear arm and a standard shock on front arm? Huh u dont say! See my gripe about not getting Velocity shocks on the 137
Im rating the Riot as a 45/55... the Riot X as i said in the video is an 80/20 off trail. Not a crossover IMO. Its a dedicated off trail sled for sure.
Or maybe not. It as flippin COLD and I was big time sweaty from riding all morning. Im willing to sacrifice alot of comfort to bring you guys these videos... bit I aint freezing my face off.
You should try some better riding gear, or start layering up. You wouldn’t sweat so much. I’d suggest klim, it’s expensive but it works. Also you live in Canada, so you should be use to it. It’s part of living in the great white north. So I’d suggest to grow a set. I’d love to give you more advice, but I can’t afford to sacrifice any more time hahaha!

I enjoy the early walk arounds on new sled It actually helped me in my decision to snowcheck a Riot when AJ walk around the Riot
Damn, I watched me another walk around and enjoyed it. Luke is really good at these.
Can we maybe see a shootout this year between this sled, the Polaris sks and the renegade backcountry xrs this year?
I believe they said in a previous video that they will in fact be shooting out the 146 crossover sleds
I got to ride an engineering test sled Riot 8000 and loved it. The X is probably more than I need, but I think Cat has a good sled on their hands.
Geez Luke you should test for AC eh. Glad you approve
Great Review of the Machine..Good and honesty everything you said is fair. Stick with one on one walk arounds ..

I’m loving all new sleds except skidoo. They need a make over. Thanks for the review.
Same thing as a 2015 Freeride 146

The riot doesn’t come with telescopic bars. Only the riot x

That 2.25 looks like the 2in challenger
I believe it is a 2 inch it advertise as 2.25 in the broacher

That is a goggle steamer when you ride in powder. You could make hotdogs in it, but don't plan on having warm and dry goggles
It actually works remarkably well...even in powder
2in lug, not 2.25. The brochures say 2.25, but country cat says 2in lug along with Arctic Cat's website

sound like Kermit the frog with that helmet on.
Just to point out this sled does not have the 2020 ctec2 in it
keep going gang
Bring back tucker hibbert
Lynx 2020
He wants to put this sled down so much more he is mumbling his words he is trying to be nice
