This reminds me my childhood sitting on a couch on my dads arms at 5 pm every day, we both tried to make the biggest kamehameha while we watched dragon ball gt the rest of the afternoon. He said that someday he will fly with Goku. Unfortunately my dad passed away 10 years ago. And I know he is fighting in a tournament Thank you so much for bringing this child memory with this song. Thank you... from the bottom of my heart. :')

My 6 year old asked me what I was looking at as I learned about Toriyama-san’s passing.
So I showed her my original pocket collection. She then brought a pen and paper and drew the face of young Son-Goku.
It brought me back to when I first discovered Dragon ball and I just couldn't hold my tears back this time...

Listening to this made me breakdown with the passing of Akira Toriyama. He’s one of the greatest manga artists… no artist in general. Toriyama’s impact in this world is immeasurable.
I cried like a baby listening to this. Sometimes, I feel like the things that I have been subjected to while I was on the internet have really desensitized me, and this song has reminded me of who I really am. I love GT especially for SSJ4, and this song just simplifies the words of what a casual enjoyer of DB would describe GT. They say a picture can speak a thousand words, but this song has sung to me millions of expressions.

Dan Dan just has that melancholy feel and this really emphasizes that. Like the feeling of "We had a hell of a journey but every journey has it's end." I love GT and the reason I prefer SSJ4 over the god forms.

RIP Akira toriyama , my childhood and life wouldn't be the same if this talented man didn't create the stories and characters we fans all come to love and relate to in our adult lives today. He will be very missed, this song is helping with tough time we all going through right now
I listened to this a few nights ago while falling asleep with my dog and she was on my lap and I was just watching stars through my window with my hand on her as we drifted off and the reason I came to write this is because last night she passed away in her sleep and I didn’t write this for pity points or anything like that but I’m writing this to say thank you for giving me and my dog one of our best memories together in her final days. Now when I hear this song and it’s melancholy but hopeful sound I won’t cry when I’m reminded of my dog I’ll just remember all the times I was happy with her like I am right now and I thank you for that.

When i heard this at the end of dbgt, it broke my heart. I didn't want dragonball to end. I cried. Dragonball was the thing i used as an escape from being bullied and called names. Now dragonball is back. I couldn't be more happier even as 30 year old.
Same here bro I was bullied and called names but when my dad introduced me to dragon ball I escaped reality everytime I watched it and I watch Og db,dbz,dbgt and dbs but by the time I finished all of them the bullying was gone and I was finally free of it hopefully your still not getting bullied bro
@@elikaiquinn3393 honestly man, W dad, but I was introduced to DB as a whole as a 5 year old by my mom, I still thank her for making me the animehead I am nowadays although most of it is bc of my curiosity and somewhat dumbness (if you get what I mean, you get it.) What I'm saying is, she shown me something that made her happy in her childhood and it genuinely makes me happy 11 years later as a 16 year old now, my journey in the animefield is far from over bc I finished dragon ball completely, I branched out to other animes, but that's for another story, your journey in anime never ends, no matter your age or state of being, if you can't continue anime, pass it on to the next generation, don't let this die out on us, the current next generation rely on you past generation.

ドラゴンボールは私の青春です。どんな時も前を向かせてくれる、そんな漫画でした。子供の頃も大人の今もアニメを見て漫画を見て勇気づけられてきました。たくさんのことを学ばせてくれてありがとう。

To me, this song signifies the end of gokus journey. I grew up with him. I remember when he was just a boy and knew nothing of the world. And saw him grow into the man who inspired me with not just his will to never give in no matter the odds, but also a hero to aspire to. (For reference I grew up with the ocean and og funi dub.) And also watched him grow into a father, husband, and friend.
These kids growing up with kai and super will never understand the emotional weight and meaning this song truly carries. I met goku when I was just 7 or 8 years old. And I left him as a teenager, ready to make my way in the world myself when goku told me "until we meet again"...through the good times, and the bad...from the height of my career in the navy, to being literal hours from living on the street, everything goku was has been with me, as a shining example in the darkness.
I understand people hated the original dubs interpretation of goku, and gt. And I completely understand why. But I hope those people understand why they mean so much to us who love them.
Sorry for getting all corny and emotional. This just always hits me in a tender spot.

@PMMillard tbh I view super as the side story and gt as the true continuation and finish to the story. I enjoy super, but something about it feels soulless to me, compared to og db, dbz, and gt. I always wanted more dragon ball after gt ended, but I meant like movies and games, not to retcon the peaceful time skip at the end of z. Lol

Rest in Peace, you deserve an eternal rest Akira Toriyama, I can't believe I get to say that while growing up how much Dragon Ball inspired me, copyng the Kaio Ken, Super Saiyan, and the Kamehameha, my life was especially saved because of the fact it inspired me to workout, this let me to grow alongside the characters, like I was part of their adventures, I remember watching the fight of Jerin and Goku so vividly for the first time in class, the kids would call me a geek, but truly Dragon Ball Z and Akira Toriyama saved me and shaped my life for the better.

GT will forever be the BEST DBZ ever gave us. Over Super, over the movies, over every animation spin off they've done. GT will forever be #1. As such I got my daughter into Dragonball at the age of 9 and she's currently 11 watching DB GT. This morning she just saw Goku go SSJ4 for the first time and she FREAKED out. I couldn't be happier.

GT might not be everyone's favorite Dragon Ball but this is the only anime that makes me cry at the end, and that says a lot about an anime serie for me.
GT is better than Dragonball Super for me...DBS doesn't have "the soul", feel empty every fight except for Goku x Frieza vs Jiren, the only time that I felt it is becoming "Dragonball" again

hearing this after the end of the series just broke my heart. even if dragon ball still exists today, and is going on strong, i still have it in my mind that it will end. nothing good lasts forever, that's the sad reality. that's why we gotta hold tight everything and everyone close to us. all journeys have their ends.
Something that goes on forever loses it meaning after awhile. Goku's journey had to end at some point. That's what gives stories meaning and why they're looked back on so fondly. GT closed the chapter on Goku's story but there are other stories in the dragon world worth telling and who knows? Maybe Goku is just merely training again. Waiting for the day when he's needed again.

Love this song . Reminds me of the grainy quality of the bootleg Japanese vhs dbgt tapes I bought from an anime store when I was 9. It just set a cool futuristic vibe because the content wasn’t even released in English at the time. The characters fashion looked more futuristic too with all the vibrant colors that compliment the dark undertones of the art work. Man idk why gt got so much hate it was a masterpiece.

GT was the first exposure to Dragon Ball I had, and even though it was the cheesy English Dub, I will never forget how cool it was to see Super Saiyan 4 and wondering just what the story behind it was. Now being 19 and going through Goku's journey as a legendary hero gives me the closure I've waited years for. I love this series and I will always hold GT as the superior sequel.

Why it's raining today in my eyes, if there's a really sunny day outside? Thanks for everything, Toriyama-san.
I just came back to Dragon Ball and DBZ Abridged after hearing about Mr. Toriyama's recent passing. Just sitting here on the edge of my bed, thinking about it all, holding the Four Star Dragon Ball in my hand (The one that started it all and a piece from a resin set a friend got for me last Christmas).
Dragon Ball really means something to me. I was first introduced to the show when the Bardock Special came on the TV on... I dunno, it must have been 4Kids TV. But it peaked my interest. I didn't really get into the show much later during middle school, when a friend of mine shared his passion for the show. After that I found a site where I could watch the show and immediately fell in love with it. More recently I watched through DBZ, DB GT, and DB Super, and it only increased my love for the show and it's characters.
Before all that, though, TeamFourStar is the one thing that realy got me to truly fall in love with and revisit the show.
Dragon Ball is one of the many shows that has shaped me as a person and as an artist, and I truly cherish every moment I had with the show.
Every moment laughing at TFS's antics and jokes, their running gags and passion for their project.
Every playground moment where me and my friends would oretend to power up, go Super Saiyan, mock-fire off our favorite attacks and scream to the heavens trying to beat the most legendary screams in the show. It was magic for us. It was real. It was inspiring.
The persistence and never-give-up attitude Goku and his firends held in the most dire of situations is something that always inspired me to keep on going even in my darkest moments, and now...
Now...
I remember all of that. I cherish every silly little moment as a kid, and every scen in the show and from TFS that made me laugh, gave me hope, and had me on the edge of my seat no matter how many times I rewatched it.
Now I sit here with the Four Star Dragon Ball in my hand, just thinking about the loss that we as the Dragon Ball community have been dealt, and I just wanna say...
Thank you, Mr. Toriyama. Thank you for inspiring me through the years. For giving me hope and courage that no matter how hard things get, I can hold my head high and power through knowing that I AM STRONG ENOUGH to make it through my darkest moments. That though I may not be super human, or Super Saiyan, that I can do this. That I have what it takes.
And thank you, TeamFourStar... For helping me fall in love with the show all over again and find that inspiration and courage that I really needed in a really rough time in my life.
Rest in peace, Mr. Toriyama. You may be gone, and you will be missed, but your legacy will live on in all you've left behind...
...and in all of our hearts.
Legends are made and legends can die but all the same they're still human their creations and their memories will live on forever that's why they're called Legends R.I.P the legend himself
