    DMart has a winning strategy in place.They have captured the market through buy 1 get 1 offers. The same brand is not so easily available on a similar offer elsewhere. The space for other retailers can be to choose different branded options for every product / category

    I am from Chhattisgarh, we have Both Dmart & reliance Mart in many of our districts, but we still go to Dmart. Reliance Mart is really the worst as compared to their other products.

    DMart shall generate so much free cash flow once it crosses 500 stores in India that shall be sufficent to fund their entire growth for more than a decade. Pls note that the Damanis do not dilute their stake from below 75%

    Thousands of small retail shops living their daily lives are destroyed due to heavy competition from Dmart. I have seen shopkeepers are struggling now to lead their daily lives as the distributors just gives 10 % margins but same products will be given at 30 to 40% margins to Dmart.

    Dude I live in a tier-3 city and forget about weekends, Dmart is extremely crowded even on weekdays. Reliance Hypermart looks like a kirana store infront of it. 😂

    One more reason,
    D Mart does not offer door delivery.
    Majority of traditional Indian consumers prefer to feel the product before buying. But everybody does not have their own transport (like own car) to carry them home. So they restrict their purchases to quantities they can carry themself. Where I wish to make purchases of 5000 Rs, I restrict them to only essential ones. This is more true in NCR areas or where there is parking problems.
    I think D Mart should really rethink on door delivery of items purchased in store, may be at extra cost.

      DMart is still doing good. It will last longer than others because it doesn't have unnecessary overheads like rent and costly interiors. It is having own stores so even of they close DMart they have asset valued crores.

    Qualty of Parle G Buscit is lower than in the market.
    One more experience is Vag Bakari Chhat. Qualty of Tea in D Mart is less than Market.

    No doubt dmart offers best price but now it is observed that price of unpacked grocery items sold are much cheaper at Reliance store like groundnut, Kabuli Chana, Dal, Rice etc.
    package items are at competitive rates.

    Would be a tough challenge for Dmart to grow again yet if it's compititor is Reliance Retail.. although dmart has slow growth nd one of the oldest in retail market but remember Reliance has entered every businesses late but fast races!

    20-30% discount only on , unsold items which u hv buy in huge qty ..
    Lux retail price 36 rs , it's not even sold for 33 rs , Maggie 15 rs packet is not sold for 10 rs ...
    First u hv to understand whatever is available in big malls is not available in small qty , when u visit the super bazar u buy things in qty which go waste , not completely used in our houses...
    Try this excersize , buy all ur needed items from small shop near ur house , take account of at the end of the month ,
    Next time buy the same items from super bazar , do the maths b compare....
    What u saved is lost in transport, hotel bills , parking charges , traffic fines etc ..
    U won't even save 10% of ur monthly bill by purchasing in dmart....

    Due to DMart lots of small retailers closed their business. No one can offer that price. In Future, mostly all of small Retailers will be disappeared due to Giants.

    As per latest report 12% of the consumers in India have already migrated to on line mode. In another 3 years 25 % of the consumers will purchase every thing through on line mode only . That will be the end of Dmart. When Business model changes you should also change your business accordingly instead of fighting it out with conventional models.
