I have 400+ dna matches residing in Hawaii! I am 1/4 Chinese, 1/4 NZ Maori, 1/2 NZ (Britsh descent) I thought they were related through my Maori side. Ive investigated more and now I fjnd so many are actually Polynesian/Chinese mix. My grandfather was also from Canton 😳...... My mind is blown after watching this vid. So many things Ill never ever know ☹

Hi Franklin, I have relatives from there and I can only say that it's most likely either Cantonese (of the Guangzhou dialect), Hakka, Teochew, Taishanese, and most likely Mandarin. Haha sorry that you got this answer a year late. lol
@@franklinhu573 depends on how you view language. According to Douglass from the video, it seems like a dialect becomes a language when people just can't understand each other anymore whereas dialect there is some kind of comprehension.

he says there are 5 different language (not dialects) in Guangzhou. wonder what would these languages be?
