They basically campaigned against Biden and not for any policies so when you take Biden out of the equation their political strategy falls flat on its face. They had a national stage. All eyes were on them and it essentially was "well Trump isn't sleepy Joe". Now that the Republican national conference is over their candidate is cemented as the Republican nominee. They acknowledged that being the oldest nominee is a bad thing (when it came to Joe Biden) so now they have to stand on it when it comes to Donald Trump. This was very calculated and I'm here for it

Look I’m just say it as someone who comes from having a grandparent in politics, asking him to step down after the debate wasn’t wrong. How they went about it publicly was petty af though. Thing is a lot of us wasn’t happy with voting for Biden and I say this as someone who is from a lifelong democratic family. What I had an issue with is how he stood by while a lot of laws were overturned and women rights were being taken. He’s still a Christian white man that happens to be democrat but that doesn’t mean he isn’t as conservative as the republicans are. A lot of weird ahhh laws were passed and where was he as this was happening. From Bible’s being put in schools to discriminative laws to protect those who need it were being abolished. There’s a reason why church and state should be separated. Not all of us are Christian’s so why are all of our laws being changed to cater to one religion. The last four years have felt like we are genuinely going backwards in times and where was Biden. Add Trump and the last 8 years have been strange af. All the progress we made with Obama was backtracked.. Our bills, groceries, mortgages, and rent are up 2x as much but we have money to send off to Ukraine etc. Minimum wage has yet to be charged to balance the economy yet we have money for other countries that are in war. As a black gay woman I will never have a genuine reason to vote republican but I would be lien if I said I was jumping for joy to vote for Biden. He’s 81 and is sick so his recovery isn’t the same so I understand why he stepped down and I’m fully behind her and believe in her but I also thank him for his service and his maturity level to put the country first while Trump is just as old, wearing a diaper and rambling on and on about nothing yet he will never put this country first before his self..
