Thank You, I have sciatica and after several sessions with a Physical Therapist I learned the proper daily exercises that relieve most of my pain. But I still had the neuropathy in my feet and ankles. I started the calf stretches and felt almost immediate relief. After a week I feel almost normal.. Thank You... Thank You.
Dr. Jo, when I lay in bed in the evening, watching tv 📺, I will lay on my back, and do the alphabet (in caps) 5 times in a row, rapidly, with my toes. This really gives a workout to my feet, ankles, calf’s, and thighs. I do it for the benefit of my toes, but it really give me a good overall leg workout. Sometimes I will do the alphabet 10 or more times in a row. You do on long airplane flights (obviously in a sitting position) to help prevent blood clots. I prefer doing in bed 🛌. It provides a more thorough workout. And it’s kinda fun 🤩. (Keep your legs close together when doing it, but not “glued” together.) Thanks for your great programs, really appreciate you.🙏👍🏻👏🏻🌷❤️
Mam can u make a video on PIVD plz. Like both Cervical slip disc (C5, C6, C7) plus lumbar slip disc ( L3, L4, L5-S1), because many people like in IT industry are facing this problem and still after many years wasted so much money still not healed. I hope I can get permanent cure from your yoga asana. CAN U ALSO PLZ GIVE SUCH ASANAS WHICH CAN PUT THE DISC BACK INSIDE NUCLEUS PULPOSUS AND PLUS REMOVE FROM PINCHING NERVE
First time happened on 2017 too much sitting position and stress, learning new language. For three months foot drop then pain in the whole left leg. I used to take medications to releive my pain and continued to work. Still persists after seven years, tingling and trembling, numbing sensation too. I used to have atrophy on the gastrocnemius muscle but later on it returned, now is full muslce. There are seven years since then adn I dont know if I will have to live with this disability for the rest of my life, anyway is not a big deal, at least I dont have a lame leg. Otherwise I enjoy excellent health, thanks God.
I'm not sure if this is what I have. The area at the base of my toes (so the bottom of my toes and above the ball of my foot) literally feels like it's sticking and it feels leathery. It's definitely worsening with time. I talked to my dr but she prescribed some foot fungus med without even really listening or even looking at it. Actually, it looks fine. Doesn't look like there's anything wrong. And at times I might feel slight burning sensation in the one foot but very seldom. Any advice? Could it be peripheral neuropathy or something else? Thank you. I've used some of your other exercises and they've helped me tremendously.
Do you have or could you do a show on having foot drop. This is caused my peripheral nerve damage or nerve compression in the back. ? Please let me know.
Hey, found another vid that applies to me. I've had partial numbness in the feet for a month after a back issue that got a bit worse in the past few weeks after another. No pain. Hope to get the tingle/shock feeling of nerves repairing. Wish I had a doctor/insurance to help since I heard it can be permanent. Or 4-12 weeks if I'm fortunate. Don't get how to use a belt or have a dog leash for the last one, but a towel was suggested in another vid. Popular channel. Fun, short vid. Hope it helps. Thanks.
Dr. Joe, I have a question. I have had a few injuries, but the joints in my fingers and feet are swollen and nothing seems to help. This has been months. I take aspirin, for months, nothing, I have been icing and hot epison salt bath, nothing, I stretch and ride a stationary bike, still swollen. Please any suggestions? I dont want to go on prednisone.
5:16 could you explain why nerves hurt when they are dying? How do you know when it’s too late for nerve regeneration. My foot and leg neuropathy appeared suddenly and acutely when 2 lumbar epidurals wore off. The epidurals were for buttock and thigh pain caused by lumbar spinal stenosis. Surgery took care of that pain, but the leg and foot neuropathy got worse. Nobody - surgeon, pain management docs, massage therapists has any explanation. The pain is there 24-7 and excruciating when weight bearing. Any ideas. I’m faithfully doing your stretches, nerve glides and wondering if I’ll ever be able to be free of this pain and walk again. Thanks. Harriet Miller
It depends on what stage of recovery you are in and how your body reacts to treatment, but in general, therapeutic exercises can be done 1-3 times a day, every day.
Hi Dr. Jo. You have helped me a lot! I have a question that I can’t find an answer for. I have spondylolisthesis and an artificial hip. The knee to chest stretch is causing some pain in the hip. Is there another alternative exercise or am I OK still doing it? Thanks for any help!
You're welcome. Stretching shouldn't be painful, uncomfortable is okay, but not painful. It also depends on how long you've had your artificial hip, and if your doctor has cleared you of all your precautions.

What kind of socks one should wear as it become difficult to put pressure on it skin has become sensitive
Medical grade compression socks sometimes help. It might be worth asking your doctor which ones would be best for you.

I got a grade 3 diffuse axonal injury and was unconscious for 4.5 months. I still suffer many physical issues.

You won't know until you relieve the pressure by most likely laminectomy to see if you get return.
Is there anything for the hands / palms as well that goes with these thanks! Edit: Never mind, found it :)
I hope they help.
